@JadeCatboy She was building a bridge torn down 2000 years earlier for good reason. She did it because she thought she knew better. She remembered the past then tossed it aside out of her own arrogance. I cannot think of a better word than destruction for what she did to that legacy

Saying ‘95% of the hate would disappear’ if the events of Harmonic Convergence never happened is just an oversimplification that ignores both the narrative intent and the broader reception of The Legend of Korra. That moment wasn’t some random destruction of lore, it was a deliberate thematic reset of the Avatar cycle back to a state closer to Wan, where the Avatar must operate without relying on accumulated past wisdom. The point is to force Korra into a position where she cannot lean on previous lives like Aang did, and instead has to navigate a far more modern, politically complex, and spiritually unstable world on her own terms. It shifts the Avatar from being a vessel of inherited answers to someone who must actively create new ones, which fits the show’s larger themes of change, uncertainty, and evolving balance. More importantly, the idea that removing this event would erase most of the hate ignores the fact that criticism of Korra existed long before it, people already took issue with her personality, the tonal shift from the original series, the industrial setting, and the different narrative structure. Harmonic Convergence simply became a focal point for frustrations that were already there, not the root cause of them. Even without it, those same criticisms would persist because they stem from fundamental differences between the two shows, not a single plot decision. Reducing all of that to one moment is less analysis and more scapegoating imo.

Agree or Disagree: 95% of the hatred Korra gets would disappear if this never happened

@Bladekid12 @DanHarmone I never said she wanted to destroy the past out of resentment, I said she was a resentful girl who wanted to destroy the past. Resentful is a description of her personality. Her decision to upend the world was based on arrogance.

@longbow6625 @DanHarmone At least to me that doesn't seem like wanting to destroy the past out of resentment but understanding what happened back then and coming to terms with her own choice when it comes to the portals and the information she was given.

@RX_9999_2 @jajaja7878uu Yuri Bezmenov was a society propagandist who defected to the US before the fall. He called them useful idiots, only good for sowing chaos, and were usually eliminated after the revolution.

Marxists are an odd bunch. The empirical evidence shows that Marxism, at scale, in 100% of cases, either collapses in on itself or verges into quasi-fascism. In other words, it has literally never worked. Despite this, they repeatedly insist that Marxism is a good ideology; when in reality a good ideology would not consistently, universally fail.

@okada_2019 In America, there is a group called the SPLC (southern poverty law center) that was caught funneling millions to some of the most evil people in the US so that they could say "support us, look at these evil men we must fight, they even have funding" Don't let them fool you.

@Hitchslap1 They activated the woke mob by praising rural America. Now, there's a bunch of islamists raging at a country that doesn't want halal school lunches (shocking). I'm sure it's all a coincidence.
