5% yield on cash is GREAT But it's not actually 5% This counts as income meaning it is taxed at your income rate Let's say you are in the 37% tax bracket like many of my clients $200k at 5% = $10k of interest You then pay 37% tax = $3,700 Yield is just above 3%
