This is the thing that no one wants to talk about for some reason. It’s now 2026 and the championship team will play a minimum of 16 games, sometimes 17.
Can no one actually comprehend that playing 4 more games is a really big deal?!

USC went 13-0 in 2004 Played Va Tech in Maryland to kick off the season, at BYU in September, and finished with Notre Dame at home in addition to the Pac-12 schedule

@On3USC When Mandel wrote about it last year he claimed it was USC and Riley who was at fault. He also erroneously said playing a Week 0 game in the US wasn’t allowed.
(BTW find me a D1 football coach who wouldn’t want a legal reason to start practice a week early.)

USC, having dropped Notre Dame this season, announces it will face San Jose State in Week 0. 2026 non-conference opponents: SJSU, Fresno St and Louisiana. Note the Big Ten is the only P4 league at this point that doesn't require 10 P4 games.
