Mike Florio reported on a recent episode of @ProFootballTalk Live that KOC was "overruled" during the Vikings' 2025 offseason QB search -- that he wanted Darnold, Jones and Rodgers but didn't have a choice but to role with JJ McCarthy and Sam Howell. "As I understand it, O'Connell got overruled. He wanted to have Darnold or Jones or Aaron Rodgers, and he got overruled. They said no to Rodgers. Rodgers wanted to play for them last year, and they said no. They're sticking with JJ McCarthy."

Hes also not a first in last out type of QB. He failed in AZ due to lack of effort.

Cardinals technically don’t have to release Kyler Murray today. They can keep him for four more days before a 19.5M guarantee for 2027 kicks in.
Would be a petty move to keep him in limbo but we’ll see what happens.

My theory: because Kyler’s desperation to get to Minnesota is so high and he would be on a vet minimum deal, he’s being used as a prop so the Raiders don’t decide to hold Geno hostage. The Vikings need them to cut him. Geno is a much better fit and makes all kinds of sense. 4/
