#WATCH | West Bengal | Kolkata Municipal Corporation demolishes an illegal structure in the state capital's Tiljala area, in which a leather factory was being operated. After a fire broke out in the structure yesterday, resulting in the death of two people, an inspection by a joint committee found that the strcuture was illegal, without an approved building plan, basic fire safety system, and proper electricity system. Kolkata police and central security forces were deployed in the area.

Earlier these poor villagers, whose cattle were regularly stolen, couldn’t file any complaints against these smugglers or even raise their voices, because TMC cow mafias would finish them off. Cow smuggling across the West Bengal -Bangladesh border has long been a menace, which has roots in political nexus. In 2022, TMC leader Anubrata Mondal was arrested by the CBI and the ED for providing political patronage to the cow smuggling racket. Enamul Haque was identified as one of the chief organizers of the cross-border smuggling, reportedly paying large sums to influential individuals and even security personnel. Cow Smuggling in West Bengal has been a highly profitable business; a cow costing roughly ₹40,000–₹50,000 in India can be sold for ₹80,000 to more than ₹1,50,000 in Bangladesh, especially during Eid. Cattle are often transported from states like UP, Haryana, and Rajasthan to transit points in West Bengal, like Murshidabad and Phansidewa. Smugglers have been using rivers and unfenced borders to take the cows to BD. They have been known to use sedative drugs to keep animals quiet during transport. Cow smuggling with TMC help had led to increased cattle theft in border villages, violent clashes between rival gangs, and a reign of terror for the poor villagers who kept losing their cows. Am so glad that WB CM Suvendhu Adhikari has said that illegal cattle smuggling will be curbed across West Bengal.

Car Crushed Between Two PMPL Buses at Pune Station A shocking accident near Pune Railway Station turned into a scene of chaos this afternoon after a car was brutally crushed between two PMPL buses in the middle of heavy traffic movement. The driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed directly into a PMPL bus standing ahead. Within moments, another PMPL bus approaching from behind rammed into the same car, trapping it between both heavy vehicles like a “sandwich.” The impact was massive. The front and rear portions of the car were severely damaged, leaving the vehicle almost completely crushed. Eyewitnesses at the scene were left stunned after watching the terrifying collision unfold right in front of them. Despite the seriousness of the accident, the biggest relief was that no casualties or major injuries were reported. However, the incident created panic in the Pune Station area and temporarily affected traffic movement as crowds gathered around the damaged vehicle. Police immediately rushed to the spot after receiving information about the accident and have launched an investigation into the matter.
