After the breathtaking results of an early mRNA pancreatic cancer vaccine trial, Dr Makary tells @kaitlancollins that NIH canceled $500 million in support for 20 mRNA vaccine trials simply because private industry should pay for it. In reality, RFK Jr killed the funding because he doesn’t believe in the technology. He said, “After reviewing the science and consulting top experts at NIH and FDA, HHS has determined that mRNA technology poses more risk than benefits for these respiratory viruses.”

I’ve warned Democrats for months about Hasan Piker’s efforts to insert himself into our party. Read my op-ed in The Washington Post about why the normalization of Piker within the Democratic Party is a mistake Democrats cannot afford to make. wapo.st/4cyGZyT

@Th_Midwesterner What an ass. I used to work at the bureau of elections. The people who work at the bureau have incredible integrity, and they are of all different party affiliations. For him to say that is despicable.

U.S. Rep. John James says he "has concerns" about SOS Jocelyn Benson verifying his petition signatures for governor, but he's turning in 30,000 "because you never can be too careful." James noted Benson attempted to kick Donald Trump off the ballot in 2024.

@KaseyHelton05 😂😂😂Conventions are like twitter - they are not real life and don’t translate to victory in November.

@admcrlsn She can’t win. She needs to withdraw and support McMorrow . McMorrow is the only Dem that can win in November.

I’ve been trying to figure out what Haley Stevens’ path to victory would be. Do Michiganders like her more IRL than people online? Almost definitely (apart from MDP activists). Maybe people like that her campaign is a love letter to Michigan and manufacturing. Or think she’s the most electable. But a candidate who is beholden to AIPAC talking points, voted to express gratitude to ICE & is coy about backing Schumer as leader winning a hotly contested Democratic primary in the year 2026? I’ve been wrong many, many times before. But I just can’t see it happening.

We must end the process of party conventions choosing the candidates for AG, SOS, SC and other statewide positions. An open statewide primary election process would better reflect the voters of Michigan.

@mrfancyMD @ZacharyForMI Platner is not a progressive. He just said he wouldn’t vote for an assault weapons ban. However, I do remember Bernie bros pouting when he lost in 16, sat out the general, and gave us Trump.

@GoblueHall @ZacharyForMI As we speak, establishment dem campaign surrogates are proudly announcing they won’t note for a progressive dem nominee. This is after years of “Blue no matter who” shaming us into voting for candidates we disagree with lmao.

There’s no world where it’s a blue wave nationally and Abdul El-Sayed loses his election. Michigan Democrats shouldn’t be making their primary choices based on electability

@KaseyHelton05 That convention didn’t represent the base. That was the extreme left of the party. Extremists winning at the convention doesn’t equate to winning in November.

The real story tonight is in the numbers. The base wants a progressive populist platform that is people-centered on working class issues and rejects monied special interests of all types. They showed up to fight for that and won the day. When the people show up, they win.

Big turnout, big energy, big night for @MichiganDems at what party leaders said was the largest convention in party history. And congratulations to @EliNSavit and @garlin and all the candidates on tonight’s wins. Michigan Dems showed up.

In 2018, when Whitmer walked with her band and volunteers Abdul El-Sayed: "They brought a marching band?" "I'm not moving out of the way, I'm standing right here" "I'm not moving" "I don't move for... anybody" Later asks if its legal (before being told yes you can do that)
Andrew Roth@RothTheReporter

"That's what you get when you don't have a message," U.S. Senate candidate @AbdulElSayed says as the band passes by his media availability.
