@shrydar Aha, the pit. I have heard of it. I'm not on any streaming service, so these things pass me by (until they get transferred to "regular" networks)

@Goerp Haha, it's from last week's episode of The Pitt, and it was indeed very funny, albeit a tad gruesome. (Show is set in an emergency department, patient had been on a waterslide when it collapsed...)

Robbie: "Oi Ogilvie, STFU about the patient's leg" Ogilvie, grudgingly chastened: "yes boss" (two seconds later) Ogilvie: *waves leg around in full view of the patient*

@Commocore And now I talked about it 😄. To compensate: I think I saw Fred from Scooby Doo on the wall today 😄

@Goerp Indeed, I was not aware of it though and have found it only accidentally today. This probably already tells a lot how much I follow the updates and care about this media.

I just learned my posts here are not visible when not logged in. Even worse, it says I didn’t post any. Seriously? At the top you see 2,532. For all these clouds I like blue skies bsky.app/profile/commoc… but to be honest with you, I am slowly moving away from social media.

@Commocore From all the social networks this one bothers me the least. But that's only because the connections here don't talk much about politics, wars or Linux/open source/decentralised networks. I can see why it's on everyone's mind but I'm really tired of talking about it

@Commocore @benljbrooks I always think with that screenshot ”why did you draw former Dutch queen Beatrix and what happened to her?"

@benljbrooks Custom assembly here: engine+level editor for C64 cRPG game, building Basic Abbreviator that helps to write 10 liners in C64 BASIC. And when it comes to the modern platforms, I am working on a horror game in C# using only OpenTK and dealing with OpenGL. It's slow, but rewarding.

@shrydar Not being able to trade with the world would set every country back. That presumably will end after a regime change. I also read in the new scientist, that Iran has a terrible water shortage largely caused by climate change. Solving that will be a lot harder to change.

“Iran is a nation held hostage by its own regime, but haunted by the fate of its neighbors. We are stuck in a house we hate, surrounded by fires we fear more."
Cyrus Janssen@thecyrusjanssen

An Iranian man left this comment on my YouTube channel. This is without a doubt the single best explanation of the reality facing Iranian people today👇 "As an Iranian, I can tell you the situation is no longer just political—it's existential. We are trapped between two collapsing structures: one internal, one external. On one hand, we face a deeply dysfunctional government, led by the Supreme Leader and the Islamic Republic’s unelected institutions. Decades of economic mismanagement, suppression of dissent, and brutal ideological control have alienated multiple generations. No one believes in reform anymore—because every attempt has either been co-opted or crushed. But here's the paradox: We are also terrified of regime collapse—because we've watched the aftermath of Western intervention in countries like Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Afghanistan. Each was promised freedom; each descended into chaos, civil war, or foreign occupation. So no, we don't trust the U.S. or Israel. Not because we support our regime—but because we know how imperial powers treat ‘liberated’ nations in the Middle East. Freedom, in their language, often means vacuum, fire, and permanent instability. Right now, many Iranians live with three truths at once: The Islamic Republic is morally and politically bankrupt. The alternatives offered by foreign actors are not liberation—they’re collapse. A bad government is survivable. No government is not. We are not silent because we agree. We are cautious because we’ve learned—too well—what happens when superpowers decide to "help." In a sentence: Iran is a nation held hostage by its own regime, but haunted by the fate of its neighbors. We are stuck in a house we hate, surrounded by fires we fear more."

@Fairlight64 @Zaratounga Cool talk! I thought i had a use case for this in our upcoming demo. Unfortunately the problem was lack of cycles in total. So his method didn't help either :(

@maietta Interesting bunch of policy positions. They're excellent on immigration reform (they "don't support classifying undocumented immigrants as criminals") and drug legalization, but dire on healthcare and poverty. Their proposal to replace taxation with gambling is hilarious.

Without getting into too much detail, I've officially switched my party affiliation from Republican, to Libertarian. And yes, the handling of the Epstein case has a lot to do with my decision. I'm done with both the Democrats and Republicans. @LPNational, you better not fuck this up for me.
