It’s almost like they know the reality of the situation, unlike you. You know little except for your fascistic desire to attain power via your proxy Reza Pahlavi. You can’t overthrow a regime with 250,000 ideologically committed men armed with military-grade weapons who are willing to massacre their countrymen. You can’t overthrow a regime like this with airstrikes. You can only do it with a massive invasion and occupation of Iran, which would require hundreds of thousands of U.S. troops and would be catastrophic for Iranians and Americans. You should admit that’s what you want.

1. I agree airstrikes won't destroy the regime. 2. I'm curious how you know an invasion would be terrible for Americans and the Iranians. 3. How could American soldiers coming be worse for Iranians than the current regime? 4. Short term pain for long term wins. 5. The gulf states want the regime to be destroyed, they just understand now that Trump won't do it, and because he won't do it, they don't want to be struck by missiles and attacked by the regime for 0 gain. 6. War is always painful, but if the U.S always looked at war as painful so therefore they must avoid it at all costs, even if it's for long term gain, then the U.S would not only lose every war, but their deterrence and world power would diminish. If good people always refused to fight evil because there was a cost, then evil eventually prevails. 7. No deal matters to the regime because they don't keep it anyways, avoiding war now just means our children fight the war on the future. All evil needs to succeed is for good men to do nothing.

The goal of this "review" was always to relieve the terrible insecurity some military officers feel around civilian academics, and turn the academies and service colleges back into what they were some 35 years ago: Retirement jobs for passed-over officers.
