@CCCurmudge @mikemaro29 @GolfTravelerJoe 11 at Trails is one of the best holes at the resort IMO. 12 enjoys a pretty special part of the property. 14 is a love/hate. 16 is one of my favorite par fives at the resort. 18 is probably the weakest finisher of the five.

It’s interesting how far apart these publications can be on some courses.

@mikemaro29 @GolfTravelerJoe Old Mac isn’t my favorite there, but it probably has the best six hole finish of any of the courses. 12 is the worst Redan on the planet. 9 isn’t a very good Cape hole. 3 is all world.

@GolfTravelerJoe @MrLustFn No doubt, it is a strong second-shot golf course. The strategy comes in knowing what parts of the greens you can hit and what parts will simply repel your ball away. The property isn't as compelling compared to other top tier public courses; but it's a pleasant walk.

@GolfCourseGurus @MrLustFn Also, as a member, I can tell you that if you love playing a strategic round of golf #2 is for you.

@GolfTravelerJoe There is no question there is various opinions between the panels, but some courses aren't that far apart in the rankings. It is often a few decimal points separating them which causes shifts in the lists each year.

@mikemaro29 @GolfTravelerJoe You can put me in the category of people that prefers Old Mac to Spyglass. I feel like Old Mac has 12 great holes and 6 average ones, and Spyglass is the opposite with 6 great holes and 12 average ones.

@MrLustFn @GolfTravelerJoe I agree, I believe No.2 is overrated. That being said, I've talked to a lot of guys that value the history, or the experience, or the Payne Stewart connection, or something else that makes it special for them. If you look just at the course itself, it should be rated lower.

@YeahClickClack @BryanTweed16 I’ll give you a couple from potato country. Pinecrest $40, Falcon Crest $80, Coeur d’Alene Golf Club $62 (not the floating green course). I also love Creek at Qualchan across the border in Spokane.

@LinksGems @thecdaresort It’s all about the one-shotters at CDA Resort. It’s an impressive collection.

The Coeur d’Alene Resort is most famous for its par-3 14th - an enormous floating island green with an adjustable distance - and with good reason, as it’s a one-of-a-kind hole. But the rest of the course, which winds through this former site of an old sawmill, is not to be overlooked. While it’s a little tight in spots, it’s a lovely walk and a beautiful spot. Not to be missed if you’re in the area.

@ferguson_turds @snoqskier 14 is a hole most people love or hate. I personally love 16, but I probably like uphill holes more than most people. Really like 17. I think 18 is a weak finish.
