BREAKING: Iran rejects today's Axios report claiming a US-Iran deal or MOU has been reached, saying "Axios is fake news" and Iran "will not sign any agreement that does not align with our interests," explicitly rejecting the current deal terms. Iran also does not accept the proposed 60 day ceasefire extension due to continued violations of it and will "respond to any further violation of the ceasefire," per two members inside the negotiations. Iran's Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has also not approved or agreed to the proposed agreement and terms.

Corporate profits just printed -0.4% against a +5.7% estimate and nobody cares. That's a 6 point miss. The worst in years. Buried under the "cool PCE" headline everyone wanted to hear. Meanwhile consumers spent 0.5% more on literally zero income growth. Spending money they don't have. $SPY sitting at 750, a whisper from all-time highs, pricing in profit expansion that just went negative. You can't run expanding multiples on contracting earnings forever. Math doesn't care about vibes. I think we see 735-740 in the next two weeks as this profit number actually gets digested. What's the bull case when the E in P/E just cracked?

BREAKING: The White House no longer expects an agreement with Iran to be announced today and thinks it could take "several more days" for the deal's approval, per Axios. Yesterday, President Trump said a deal announcement was coming "shortly." US officials are "optimistic" but say the deal could still fall apart.

I don’t know how many times I’ll have to repeat this, but here we go. The money he keeps ranting about was Iran’s money that we owed for military equipment the Shah bought but we never delivered (plus interest). We repaid it to settle a dispute before the Iran-US Claims Tribunal because we would’ve had to pay far more if the tribunal had ruled in that case. The cash he’s talking about was delivered in Swiss Francs and Euros because we could not actually transfer dollars to Iran.
