@itsNoahPham @adelwu_ Confirm I have the 15L version and it’s pretty good. The sunglasses pocket is too small to fit glasses in, but I think that’s not so bad on the 20L

@RealToasterBoi @suchnerve Can’t speak to what you experienced before, but Kagi have access too Google’s index/data so they have essentially the same results by default that a clean google search has in my experience.

@suchnerve Has something changed in the last few months? I tried kagi but results just felt lower quality than competitors. Half the time I ended up searching something on Google cus I couldn't find it with kagi quickly enough. Although I was using the trial idk if thats different somehow

So I tried switching from Google to Kagi and I’m sorry to report the hype is accurate. It really is better. You don’t realize how infuriating it is for your searches to get derailed by walls of SEO & ads until it isn’t happening anyone. The search algo feels like Google used to.

Whatever happens, Keir Starmer will always be remembered for leading the Labour Party to a crushing victory over its most hated opponent and evil rival, the membership of the Labour Party.

@GergelyOrosz “Linux [makes it difficult for non-technical users to get malware on their machines]” you’re dreaming on that one.

Absolutely Microsoft to blame, for making it too easy for anyone non-tech-savvy to end up with malware on their machine that hijacks all their Edge browsing sessions Apple with Mac and Linux all solved this. Microsoft doesn’t want to do anything about it - not on Win 10!
retired gecko@friendly_gecko

@GergelyOrosz Can you blame Microsoft for them downloading malware?

Having been so used to using a Mac or Linux, it’s wild how messed up my winder family members’ Windows 10 systems are. Malware everywhere to the point of unable to use the internet, McAffee screaming in their face and doing nothing depute paying for it. Absolute horror…

@Matt_Ca @siennamarla I guess it’s about solidarity with the oppressed. If your leaders can’t reconsider and be honest about what is happening to the Palestinians, it’s a good signal that they won’t fight for your interests either

If a Green candidate called for Jews to be melted down and used to fill pot holes, Keir Starmer would call a Cobra meeting and proscribe the Green Party, but a Reform candidate can say that about Nigerians and silence. This is what we mean when we say there is a racism hierarchy.

@davisrichardg Some of MS defenders on this need to stop and consider why so many of users say they experience Windows (or their other OS) as slow and unreliable, despite their “good” code. Whatever qualities you think the code has that makes it good, the end result is users that hate it.

Yep... Lots of computer science "experts" on this platform lately. Just a friendly reminder that Windows is good, Linux is good, and macOS is good. Use the right tool for the job, because they all have pros and cons.
Scott Hanselman 🌮@shanselman

Some history: Back in Windows 8/Windows Phone days, they made many decisions about app restrictions, app store rules, etc. always with the justification "But Apple does it". Turns out that just because Apple did a thing, it doesn't mean Microsoft could do it too, because Microsoft != Apple (shocking, I know). For instance, I don't remember Apple laptops overheating on people's backpacks, draining their batteries and leaving users with no power when they needed it. I'm not saying this particular decision is bad (or good), just that "Apple does it too" is a weak argument when there's precedent for users to be suspicious given the low reliability they have experienced over the years. Consider that this is the same OS that just announced that it will focus on solving the (way too many) reliability problems it has been facing for so long. Therefore, a much better argument would be "we can guarantee this won't have side effects or issues, it is fully tested and it is not going to be (yet) another feature that we will have to un-announce in a couple of years because it backfired".
Scott Hanselman 🌮@shanselman

Apple does this and y’all love it. sudo powermetrics --samplers cpu_power and see it yourself. Let windows cook
