Happy to share my new review article on "Affective Immunology", which comments on what can be considered an emerging sub-field, informed by the amazing legacy of Jan Kiecolt-Glaser in #PNI, and future directions for the field. It was a lot of fun to write! authors.elsevier.com/c/1ig~G3AAzzl2…

@LinkedInHelp It would be great to connect to a real person. I have not received any DM. Of course, if you are referring to messaging me on LinkedIn, I can't log into it. After trying for days.

@MerriamWebster I use "nerf" to refer to a very small amount. As in, just move that over a nerf. All inform me that this isn't actually a real word; but is such a useful one!

Congratulations @k_vanbogart! It was an honor and so much fun to celebrate with you and your family this weekend of your PhD graduation! Even the weather improved for the main event. @PennStateBBH and @pennstatehhd proud! Here are before and after pictures for all to enjoy.

I was starting my first project at Pitt when COVID happened. We pivoted to remote collection, including dried blood spots for inflammation; here we show this method is feasible, reliable, and valid in older adults. Could be especially useful for hard-to-reach populations in PNI!

Placebo effects are among the most important effects in medicine. They provide a window into the self-healing potential of the mind and brain, and make it challenging to isolate the effects of active treatments like drugs and devices. Please join us for a free #NIMH -sponsored webinar on the Science of Placebo – 12 - 4 pm EST on July 11-12. Register for free here: go.nih.gov/gbuWTbf

@ddwitzz I'm sure they tasted good! I'll venture from afar that you might just need more batter on the pan to get a more complete layer with your swirling. :)

@ddwitzz I made crepes for family breakfast this morning. It helps to have a crepe pan but a good regular nonstick frying pan works. Swirling the pan to get a thin layer is key, cook enough and it comes right off, light golden brown w no fancy spatula needed! My girls' favorite breakfast

Happy to see #PNIRS2024 kicking off with some excellent aging-related programming, related to dietary factors and how they relate to cognitive aging and Alzheimer's disease risk. And with a lovely combination of animal-model and human research! #healthyaging #PsychoNeuroImmology

New paper on links between child empthy and health led by @PennStateBBH Hannah Schreier, with BBH graduate students Aishwarya Ganguli and @cate_givens, and @pennstateHDFS Damon Jones. It was fun to help with this fascinating and important work!
