want to talk about the concept of pure-tourism🧐🏟️ I think this is where the future of crypto Pure refers to purism the things that already have a dedicated, nerdy, enthusiast crowd. Tourism refers to people who have no real interest in that field but get drawn in because it makes money and once they’re in, they actually start wanting to learn the technical side and go deeper into it. Let me give two examples: 1. @Polymarket . Before Polymarket existed, a lot of people were already obsessed with prediction trying to forecast everything. The whole concept of “superforecasters” had emerged. That’s the pure side of this thing. The tourism side is when it merged with gambling. Once it fused with gambling and things took off, thousands of people came in just to make money and the space grew massively. 2. @GrailCo This one is much smaller right now, but I think it’ll be a $3 billion project down the line. Card collecting has been around forever it’s an old hobby with tons of nuance and detail. That’s the purist side. The tourist side is its merger with NFTs and tokens. Through this, people whose goal is just to make money in crypto will enter this space, start trading, and eventually start making memes about the cards. That’s the tourism layer. I think @monad should focus on these pure-tourism plays and fill its network with them. The future is in spaces where people have fun while making money.
