@Grant_Bateman I've binned a 1000km in late December because of a snow and ice forecast. Lost £100 of Travelodge bookings but it would have probably been more expensive to try and fail. I packed a December 1200 because of snow. I reckon some might have kept going.

Doing an #Audax tomorrow, it’ll be -4 at the start is this a bad idea? I’m not worried about being cold but is it silly to ride on UK roads in these temps? Any advice welcome, thanks 🙏 #AudaxUK

@joannasbarlow Hard balance to get right. Organisers need to protect participants, often from themselves but participants need to be prepared for a rough sea swim. Extreme running & cycling events require proof of previous experience, not that IM would ever do that.

Turns out that three months of zero swimming makes very little difference to swim fitness or technique. 3k in the pool this morning - no slower than when I was swimming 4x a week 💪🏼 Triathletes, you’re wasting your time 😆

@NairoInGreen If I read it correctly they aren’t allowing trans women to race in the men’s/open category at the pro level. That seems unfair but no trans women in the women’s category seems logical. Separate athletes rights from human rights seems ok. Whereabouts, being watched peeing…

Trans rights are human rights. Right-wingers are obviously using the "trans athletes are ruining sports" (they're not) angle as a starting spot to justify removing them from every aspect of public life. (See what's happening in the US) DO NOT GIVE THEM AN INCH!

Trying to sneak this in during a TdF stage is pathetic. This effectively is a complete exclusion from trans athletes from cycling without proof of a competitive advantage. Disgraceful.

@Pflax1 1. I don’t think they are trans for the purposes of a competitive advantage. 2. I dont care what the level is, rules should be the same at all levels. 3. I don’t care who uses what bathroom as long as they wash their hands. 4. Loosely but not super well, so I’ll go with no.
