Why are the Spielberg type jews so obsessed with depicting aliens as these physically disgusting and decrepit creatures that suffer for their bodies and would be better off as a brain in a jar? As if any advanced alien species would not have optimized their bodies for the beauty of their species. Mass Effect does a good job of this.

@JoshRainerGold I think this dude just has no idea how to cook I loved fish veggies and chicken as a kid. Literally my favorite meal was grilled rainbow trout, broccoli and a baked potato I would beg for it.

You have no argument against fruit. Notice how you said cream instead of milk because your ideology requires you to deny the existence of carbs even though milk tastes better than cream and humans have one of the sweetest milks of any mammal. You have no argument against pasta, French fries, pizza, ice cream. Kids don’t like chicken? What are you even talking about man you’re all over the place.

A child has to be bribed to eat broccoli. Pudding is promised. A deal is struck. A child has to be tricked into fish. It only goes down as a finger, breaded past recognition, drowned in ketchup. A child has to be conned into chicken. It has to be a dinosaur, a smiley shape, a nugget with the animal hidden. A child has to be sold the wholegrain. It only works buried in sugar, shaped into a loop, sold by a cartoon tiger. Hand the same child a piece of steak and it just eats it. Hand it butter off the knife and it is thrilled. Cheese, meat, cream, egg yolk, marrow from a bone. No negotiation. No cartoon. No pudding held hostage. The foods a toddler has to be tricked into are the ones we were told are good for it. The foods it grabs with both hands are the ones we were told to ration. A baby has not read the pyramid. It has not seen an advert. Nothing runs the show but instinct, and instinct goes straight for the fat and the meat. Every trick at the dinner table is an adult overriding a child's instinct to sell it something the child was never built to want.

@KaiserLoengramm I think if you aren’t from a “not shit” poor family then this movie just cannot hit as hard. I didn’t really like it as a child but now it makes me cry. I’d give anything for my dad to have lived to see me graduate selection.

If you want a solid, cheesy film that isn’t transgressive that also has a great story to it and message with inspiration, A Knights Tale is one of my absolute favorites. It has a peasant becoming a Knight, but it hits even at the beginning something I find quite profound, where Will says “How did the Nobles become Noble? They took it, at the point of the sword!” It’s not about overthrowing the old order or remaking the world. It’s about a man coming into it, with his ambition, his skill, his opportunities and taking as much as he can to achieve what he wants and changing his own destiny. And then, the way in which he becomes legitimized is the chivalric Knightly virtues he displays in interacting with the Prince of England who rewards him by truly knighting him when he is shown to be a fraud. But it isn’t about how this order and this world is bad, but a man coming into it. And it’s just very fun overall, with a much more hopeful showing of the Middle Ages. It’s great, would highly recommend. Just a fun movie with a good story that appeals to the basic heroism that inspires. Becoming a Knight, engaging in the sport and the jousts, making something of yourself in the world, getting the girl and beating your enemies. Fantastic film.

I think some of that “cheesiness” is just a lack of cynicism in the film We’ve been conditioned that art has to be transgressive and disgusting for it to be meaningful

It literally was combat that got him knighted. When the the prince’s identity became known at the tournament he was the only one with the courage and honor to joust him. The aristocracy at this time had already started to become sycophantic and he represents new vital blood. That impression and love of the game alone made enough of an impression in the Prince to intervene using royal authority.

It’s a medieval sports movie. Of course it focuses on sports. And it makes enough sense that the guy who has the power invested in him to knight people knighted the guy who they established had positive interactions multiple times prior. Great movie. Great overall themes and message. Still not woke.

The obvious point is that the slave labour that was used was not only segregated from the rest of society but also was dispensed of after their use. That is not the same as forceful integration of a people into a society.
