The goal of Passage is to make it possible for creators to create a world (presently in Unreal Engine) and allow it to be used by their community with nothing more than an internet connection and a web browser.
-This could be for games, personal rooms, community meetings, virtual classrooms, and many other things.
-By making Passage web3 it allows for the use of NFTs and coins on-chain in worlds. This makes it possible for gamers to own all of their assets like skins, coins, resources, weapons, armor, vehicles, pets, etc...
-When the gamers own all the assets they can sell them on the marketplace and the royalties become an income stream for the creator that is more sustainable and pleasant than other schemes that games studios have used like loot boxes or pay to win.
-By putting the asset ownership in the gamers hands it allows them to use their assets any way they like. They could even design a whole other game using existing assets, and in a worst case where a studio decides to shut down a game on Passage the community could more easily rebuild that game without losing all their progress because all the assets would still exist and be owned and their progress tracked on-chain.
Yes, I completely understand that the improvements and progress have been hard to notice unless you have been attending the weekly GM tidings and listing to all the things being done, and progress has definitely been slower than desired, but it does continue.
I hope that everyone keeps an eye out for @passageio . In a time when chain after chain are shutting down Passage is still developing, still showing up weekly for GM tidings, monthly for steering committee meetings, and daily grinding away behind the scenes to keep moving toward the goal line.
