Okay so let’s do it First job, this one MD was wild Persona non grata in his birth country, he had stints in politics and industry before taking a notable company public and then moving to OWN coverage of that industry at our bank Very rarely lost deals in this sector

The part nobody is talking about is that Fassbender basically disappeared from Hollywood for years doing spy thrillers on Apple TV and now FX hands him the lead in what they clearly want to be their flagship prestige series. This man went from being everyones pick for the next Bond to playing a Kennedy patriarch and honestly that trajectory says more about where the industry is headed than the casting itself

After a long career I finally turned in my badge and gun. The board of directors were confused why their general counsel had both, but appreciated the gesture.

Bryson was asked why he was getting emotional on the 18th green after his playoff win in South Africa. "I wish I could tell you. A lot has happened in my life the past week. I'm just so grateful for my team, the Crushers, and everybody supporting me. It's so funny, golf is a fickle game and you work so hard at it your entire life, and you realize golf is just golf and there's a lot more to life than just golf." "I had some things happen during the off time this week and you know, I was just praying all day. Praying to give me the perseverance to move forward and keep looking forward. I just gotta say I love everybody, thank you for supporting me. South Africa was unbelievable. I mean, got to be the best LIV event we've ever had."

project hail mary was unfortunately a middling adaptation of a good book. the script has the unfortunate affect of “language model populism” - where every single line has to be some sort of punched up comedic zinger yet still unremarkable. visuals were uninspired and trite and more or less identical to other space movies. everything good about the film comes from the wonderful world scaffolding of the book and the hard science fiction of it all that lets you suspend disbelief on the alien rocky the movie doesn’t really try to get into the xenolinguistic stuff even at the depth the book tries (someone called it “arrival for idiots” which unfortunately hit ) the thing that elevated the book is the commitment to a hard science fiction engineeringporn fiction at a level nobody else is able to write. the direction of the movie doesn’t really convey the same feeling successfully, and you’re left with flat characters, an alien that is more human than several humans i know, and a marvel populism gosling and the german woman are great as actors, but this movie will not be remembered in a year. it is disappointing to see people do so little with a quarter billion, insane acting talent, and incredible source IP

After starting the year with 2 top 10s to qualify for the Arnold Palmer and The Players, Joel Dahmen missed both those cuts and had to get an Uber to Monday Qualifying for the Valspar. He missed at qualifying, but got in the field anyway as an alternate and now has shot rounds of 72 and 70 to make the cut. After the round, he spoke about how grounding life on the PGA Tour can sometimes be: “Look, life on the PGA Tour is amazing. Wouldn't trade it for anything but also people probably don't see behind the scenes as much and so I got the family on the road, which is great, but it also can be difficult when you drive across the state on Sunday, get into a new place, you have to unpack, get them all ready, got to get groceries in the house, all those little things, thankfully my wife does most of that. “But then I had a 9:30 tee time and it was about an hour away and we didn't have another car. So I didn't have time to grab another one. So it was just Uber was the best option and yeah, so it's a lot different from, you know, the steak and wine and The Players clubhouse and an amazing week to driving to Brooksville to Monday. “And I hadn't had to do that in a while, thankfully, but the game humbles you quickly but also can recenter you and ground you and, yeah, I mean I didn't play well there on Monday either, but you knew I had a good chance of getting in the field and so it was nice little reset to hit some striped range balls on not a perfect golf course and realize how lucky we are to be out here on tour.” He’s currently 65th on the FedEx Cup Standings and will be hoping to go low this weekend and improve on that.
