🚨FORT WORTH POLICE CHIEF ADMITS OFFICERS WERE WRONG IN HANDLING STREET PREACHERS AT PRIDE FEST After the launch of DOJ inquiry, Chief Eddie Garcia said the department has begun First Amendment refresher training after the viral confrontation. “When we’re right, we’re right, and when we’re wrong, we’re wrong,” Garcia said. “There certainly was a better way to have that communication, and we were wrong in the manner in which we communicated that. Certainly, we’re going to take accountability for it.”

One kilogram of crystal pulls up to 2.8 liters of drinking water out of dry desert air every day, powered by nothing but sunlight. It's called MOF-801, and the chemistry behind it shared the 2025 Nobel Prize. I build chemical plants. MOF-801 is zirconium nodes linked by fumarate molecules, with pores sized to catch single water molecules. Omar Yaghi's company Atoco is building container-scale units for 1,000 liters of clean water a day, off-grid. Prototypes have already run in the California desert. In Dune they were called wind traps. They remained science fiction for 60 years. The bottleneck has moved from chemistry to manufacturing. Growing these frameworks by the ton, pressing the powder into forms that survive years of use, and building the systems around them cheaply enough to matter.

@Supersonic_Red @velcroripper Interesting, I never knew that, my son has strawberry blonde hair. My wife’s side of the family, they’re are mostly gingers and have a lot of twins. I myself have woken up twice during the same surgery, but I’m not ginger.

Oh yes, that's an issue. Anesthesiologists look at me and see red hair, green eyes with freckles, and immediately ask questions. Sometimes they swear. The MC1R gene has a few cute tricks. I weigh 143 pounds. I woke up during my last surgery, even after they had given me enough anesthesia for a man over twice my size. That was the second time I woke up during surgery. I wasn’t scared. I was more irritated than anything, thinking, WTAF, am I awake? Before I knew it, they had put something else in the line, and I was out. Local anesthetics don’t work. The same gene also gives you an extremely high pain tolerance. I’m guessing you don't normally feel pain until you're very seriously injured. Gingers don't process pain normally. Wishing you the best, and hopefully you can break out of there soon. Get that BP up!

B-52 in the pattern last Friday at NAS JRB Fort Worth. We were on our way to restock our booth when we spotted this beast entering the pattern. One quick U-turn later, we were at our favorite park just in time to catch the BUFF on its next pass. There are few sounds in aviation that compare to a B-52. It’s the kind of roar that stays with you long after it’s gone. No really, what did you say? 😅

@MikeyDiMercurio Talked to nurse LaShonda today on the telephone. She didn’t know what a VA disability rating was. I guess they don’t let telephone nurses near real people for a reason.

Scene: Hospital Dr. office PA lady: Whoa. According to the blood pressure machine, you, sir, are dead. Me: I’m pretty sure I’m alive. PA: I also see here that you beat prostate cancer a few years ago. 2018. Me: Nope. Never had it. PA: You look pretty good for beating cancer. Me: if I had had prostate cancer in 2018, I would be dead now. PA: That could explain the low blood pressure reading.

@nmlinguaphile They taught us how to use a smaller version during USAF survival school. It also aides in escape and evasion so the enemy doesn’t see the flame.

The Dakota fire hole system was named after the Dakota Native American people who developed the technology centuries ago. The system originated in today's North and South Dakota, Wisconsin and Minnesota. It was designed to combat the constant wind that blew over the Plains, and to prevent prairie fires which would scare off the bison. The Dakota fire pit was made up of two holes, a bigger and a smaller one which were connected by a tunnel. The fire was lit in the bigger hole, and the tunnel provided a constant feed of fresh oxygen into the fire, making for an almost smokeless fire. Since the fire was underground and protected from the elements, it was concealed and burned much hotter, making it ideal for stealth camping and cooking. The only downside to the Dakota fire pit is that it needs to be built on rich and firm soil, as it is almost impossible to make one in frozen, sandy or heavy soil. The Dakota had the benefit of living in the grassy North American Plains, where the soil was ideal for the Dakota fire pit.

Today, I had the immense honour of taking my dear Ollie Pop on his very first flight in a small aeroplane! He helped me with everything from taxiing to landing! Almost three years ago, I took my brother Peter Pop on a flight to celebrate his birthday, so Ollie deserved a go too

@PolitiBunny After we visited each city (we treated each as a mini vacation) we were thinking of retiring in and talked with realtors, we picked the city and contacted a realtor. Visited properties and then decided to build before moving. My city has outstandingly low utility rates.

For those of you who picked up and left crap blue-states, how did you decide where to go? I realize jobs are a factor, but with so many remote opportunities it doesn’t seem to drive moves as much as it used to. So, how did you pick? Did you go in blind and buy? Just curious.
