Horrific accident reported along Raila Odinga Road at the Highrise/Riara University flyover early this morning. The vehicle reportedly went up the pedestrian footbridge, with rescue efforts still ongoing. A painful reminder: please do not drink and drive. One careless decision can change many lives forever. What do you think needs to be done to reduce these avoidable road accidents?

The ultimate coping mechanism for the clinical officer union is the loud, public chanting of: "We are the backbone of primary healthcare! We see 80% of the patients!"
Yeah, because you're running the triage and treating common colds, ringworms, and amoeba infestations. Seeing a high volume of uncomplicated patients doesn't make you a consultant; it makes you a high-throughput clerk.
There’s a massive difference between clearing a crowded outpatient queue and managing a complex, multi-system organ failure in the CCU.
Volume does not equal depth,twí hamwe?

@BecomingKm Daktari, you should be busy saving lives in theatre not chasing impressions&Farming Engagements on x.
If COs are that bad, they shouldn't be your daily topic on X.
Find better things to do Daktari.

@BecomingKm CO's are like customer service staff on any organization where the visitor must pass through you o see any staff, and you will never hear a customer service staff say they want to be the boss.

Chaired a meeting with health professional regulatory bodies at the Ministry of Health headquarters to review preparedness for the deployment of the 2026/2027 cohort of healthcare interns on 1st July.
The engagement brought together regulators to validate internship readiness, address emerging placement challenges and reinforce a transparent, accountable and efficient deployment process.
I commended the regulatory bodies for completing the verification of eligible graduates and submitting internship lists within the agreed timelines, ensuring a credible basis for deployment.
This financial year, the Government has committed KSh 9.3 billion towards internship training and will deploy 6,360 healthcare interns across various cadres, underscoring our commitment to strengthening the health workforce and advancing Universal Health Coverage (UHC) through Taifa Care.
We also reviewed ongoing reforms aimed at aligning health professions education with national workforce needs, including student indexing, workforce planning, internship capacity management and the harmonisation of scopes of practice across health professions.
I was joined in the meeting by PS Ms. Mary Muthoni (Public Health and Professional Standards); Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK)Board Chair Dr. Dabar Abdi; CEO NCK Dr. Lista Onsongo; Ministry's Head of Nursing and Midwifery Services Dr. Judith Awinja; CEO Dr. David Kariuki of the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC); Dr Kelly Oluoch of the Kenya Medical Training College(KMTC); Ibrahim Wako of Clinical Officers Council among other Ministry Officials.
