I’m GustyCube. Distributed systems & AI engineer building infrastructure-level software in public. I write about: • system architecture & scaling • distributed system failures • AI infrastructure & memory systems • lessons from building real systems Currently working on: • Membrane — selective learning & memory for agentic systems • Networked infrastructure projects at Ignyte Solutions Follow if you’re interested in how systems actually work.

The way I've personally solved this is by designing the systems myself and having the models implement them. They've gotten pretty good at writing high-quality code when given a concrete plan, and when I'm the one designing the system (for example, a memory and learning substrate for agents), I can catch and fix a lot of issues before the agent ever writes a line of code. That way, you understand the logic and architecture without needing to memorize code line by line. I think the era of knowing every line and file in your codebase is fading, and what's replacing it is a deeper understanding of systems and architecture over syntax.

Just read @badlogicgames’ blog post, and it put words to something that’s been deeply disturbing me for days. I’ve become very AI-pilled over the last few weeks, pushing crazy amounts of code on Icarus (my OSS Valorant tool). That especially became prevalent because I kinda have to not fail college, while my app was blowing up and getting a lot more users. But it all felt vaguely wrong, like I was losing control of my codebase. My code wasn’t perfect, but it was thoughtful. I spent time building systems that would aid me in the future and removing failed ideas. AI code was good, how good? I couldn’t tell you, tbh. But I know it wasn’t perfect. So I don’t really know what to do right now. I’m more lost than ever, but this blog post helped me find a little more understanding. I’m at a stage where my take on this is still actively forming, and I’d love advice from more experienced devs. My ideologies have never been this battle-tested, so yeah. mariozechner.at/posts/2026-03-…

We're launching RunClaw to kill OpenClaw. OpenClaw costs $700 to set up. RunClaw costs $1 no setup. > OpenClaw can’t build you a website > Can’t generate a video > Can’t make a slide deck > Has 9 security CVEs RunClaw does all of it. Better agents. More secure. Always in your DMs. Try it now for $1.
