In an age when so many politicians are obsessed with self preservation over the interests of those who elected them, it makes my soul sing when I listen to James Talerico (@jamestalarico). James and I are mutuals on this platform and one day I would love to meet him in person and shake his hand. I’m not a religious person because having been brought up as a catholic, I simply cannot be part of an organized religion that has failed so many children its their care. James is a pastor as well as a politician and I actually could see myself attending his church just to listen to his sermons. He is clearly a man of deep faith, but equally a man who uses that spiritual strength to fight for the people of his community. I’ve said it before and I know Texas will resent my words, but I’m sure God has bigger plans for him.
