@Queenie_2312 @Dashytwo Because the shitheads who made and ran this country are stupid and let obese men be shirtless but women are considered sexual. Im glad he is progressing and thats good, but this post was never about his weight. It's about misogyny
English

@Dashytwo This guy is called Sal, he is trying so hard to lose weight and has lost a lot. Instead of being a dick, you can follow and celebrate his journey as Instagram
English

@GyjoRitual no i commissioned them with their advertised rates and they seem to be doing fine 😭
English

@tiggerclifford @toomguy127 @bratbIush I dont do premades most the time I do customs, if I already have a fur on hand it cheaper but I usually dont, and if I do have extra fur I like to use it in trades with friends/other makers
English

@toomguy127 @GyjoRitual @bratbIush I just wanted to come and agree with you. As someone who over purchased fur for personal projects and commissions, 500$ in fur can make a handful of suits. There's no way you need a repeat 300-500$ in material costs if they're doing premades. Customs would make sense though.
English

@moontailmutt @toomguy127 whatever you say buddy, ive got bills to pay and my 500 dollars in labor won't cover that.
English

@GyjoRitual @toomguy127 I mean, the vast majority of the time, people pay bills with their LABOR compensation, not the cost reimbursement on materials… should I also be itemizing my water bill because I had a drink during their commission? How about my gas bill cause I got cold while I was drawing?
English

@toomguy127 @CanisAtrox Because 1000 dollars for a high quality fursuit is unrealistic. That's what everyone has been TRYING to tell you. It doesnt matter that its a "large sum" when it comes to the cost and time of the craft it is a low amount and won't get you the highest quality.
English

@GyjoRitual @CanisAtrox I could afford $1k, and did, my whole argument tho was that since $1k is a large sum of money it should result in a quality product being delivered. That's what I got so of course i'm not mad, but it's puzzling why others would advocate for lower quality products.
English

@toomguy127 @CanisAtrox If you cant afford the 1000 then make it yourself and see what quality you get instead.
English

@CanisAtrox $1k is an extremely large sum of money for the average person and as someone who bought a $1k suit that is extremely high quality I think its perfectly fair to voice my thoughts
English

@Larkenox @toomguy127 @bratbIush Legit just bought materials for a fullsuit (fur only) and both orders were nearly 400 dollars on just the fur 😭
English

@toomguy127 @GyjoRitual @bratbIush Fine, dont count the $80-$300+ sewing machine. I'll add up to $500 anyway. Or if you prefer, add on 20 hours of hand sewing labor instead! Don't pretend like fullsuits dont require $400 of FUR AND SHIPPING ALONE!
English

@toomguy127 @gshepgf @bratbIush You have like 5 different fursuit makers saying you are wrong and you still try to argue.
English

@gshepgf @GyjoRitual @bratbIush as someone who bought one I'm allowed to question business practices 😭
English

@moontailmutt @toomguy127 Also, you can be weirded out all you want, but do you feel weirded out when people use their salary money to pay bills?? thats essentially what you are saying, I hope you know that
English

@toomguy127 @GyjoRitual I’m also a bit weirded out by “including power.” When I was doing art commissions, I never charged people based on how much my drawing tablet cost, or how much my pen nibs wore down during their commission, and especially not my own home’s power consumption.
English

@toomguy127 Yeah I proceeded to mention the power these machines take, never getting a new one.
English

@toomguy127 When did I ever say anything about buying a new sewing machine?
English

@GyjoRitual I feel like if a suit maker manages to somehow need to charge enough to cover a new sewing machine for every suit that shouldn't mean the buyer should have to deal with a lower quality product to account for lower labor costs, they spent the $1k regardless which is a lot.
English

@toomguy127 @Larkenox @bratbIush They absolutely do count, Fursuit costs are meant to cover ALL of the expenses for making one, including power, filament, thread, fur, minky, foam, lining materials etc. Even if the materials were "only 500" thats still HALF of the 1000. 500 is NOT a fair cost for that.
English

@Larkenox @GyjoRitual @bratbIush I get the sentiment but i feel its a bit unfair to include things like scissors, sewing machines, and printers. Those are one time investments made at the beginning of starting a business and not really indicative of material costs for future suits
English

@toomguy127 @bratbIush As a fursuir maker I have had them go well over this.
English

@GyjoRitual @bratbIush I'm not a fursuit maker but i'm pretty sure materials for a single suit aren't usually crossing the $500 mark, considering the prices i've seen
