Here is a photo of 1000Rs note in India. If you zoom in and read-- the note says: "I promise to pay the bearer a sum of 1000Rs" Please note that it never said: "I promise to pay the bearer a sum of 1000Rs, BUT........(ONE DAY you will have to get in line)" Now if you find 1000Rs note somewhere in your house, it is useless. In simple words: 2016 demonetisation killed India's bond market. To understand the complexity, here is what you should know:- 1) Almost every government raises money via bonds. 2) Bonds are basically a promise of repayment. In simple words, it is the level of trust investors have on a nation. 3) When not enough "trust" is there, the government still tries to attract investments by promising a higher returns (i.e higher rate of interest). By doing 2016 demonetisation, we indicated to the world: that we can BAN our own currency, at will. A currency is the highest form of trust a nation enjoys. The lesser the trust, the more the nation has to pay for foreign capital. FII/FDI leaving India, is no accident.

@amit_pawa @RAPMOnline I never understood why an abdominal wall block should be superior to good infiltration of the port insertion sites. I’m a big RA fan but in cases where you only have a few port insertion sites the abdominal wall blocks always seemed like too much faff to me.

For Laparoscopic Abdo surgery- are you performing blocks? If so which? This study in @RAPMOnline compared TAP to Lateral QLB and noted a difference in dermatomal loss of sensation, but not analgesia. I’d love to see an arm with Anterior QLB. Thoughts? rapm.bmj.com/content/rapm/e…
