Congratulations to John Newman, our Chief of School Security and Emergency Management, on being named Florida’s School Safety Specialist of the Year by @EducationFL! This honor recognizes exceptional leadership, professionalism, and dedication to protecting students and staff across the state. The award was announced during Florida’s National Summit on School Safety in Orlando.

Hillsborough County Public Schools' Security and Emergency Management Department held its annual graduation and awards ceremony on Thursday! 🎓 The ceremony featured the graduation of several officers, promotions, and a retirement recognition. "These graduations always remind you why you do what you do. These folks are going to go work at school sites, and you know they're going to have an impact on our kids." - Chief John Newman.

When it comes to holiday spirit, these officers don’t just protect and serve; they wrap and deliver joy. 🎁 This week, HCPS School Resource Officers went on a shopping spree with school staff for their students! Now in its seventh year, this tradition has been a great way to give back and create a lasting memory for students during the holiday season!
