@InfinitelyDean President Trump has turbocharged the slow structural shifts to post-1945 global geopolitical order. He embodies a disruptive force to remould world affairs. Will Africa seize the moment, or will it be a continuation of entrenching the Stockholm syndrome, in place since

Bloomberg reports African governments are approaching Dangote to secure fuel supplies after the Iran war disrupted flows. Good reporting. A few layers underneath are worth examining. The article says 25 per cent of Dangote's 650,000 bpd capacity is available for export. That is nameplate capacity. Dangote receives roughly five crude cargoes per month from NNPC against the thirteen it needs to run at full utilisation. It sources the remainder internationally, with Nigerian grades running USD3 to 6 above Brent. The constraint is feedstock. Export capacity that cannot be fed is not export capacity. Bloomberg also notes South Africa holds 8 million barrels of strategic crude stocks, then acknowledges the country has virtually no dedicated fuel reserves. That distinction matters more than either sentence alone. Crude stocks without refining capacity is inventory you cannot deploy. South Africa has lost about half its refining capacity in recent years. The wider story is the downstream cascade most commentary has not yet reached. Sulphur, sulphuric acid, fertiliser, mining inputs, food systems. Half of global seaborne sulphur trade transits the Strait. When Gulf refineries shut, the acid supply chain breaks. Urea prices have surged nearly 40 per cent. More than 1.1 million metric tons of fertiliser cargo are stranded in the Gulf. China has restricted exports. Northern Hemisphere planting season is weeks away. We published our structural analysis of this full cascade yesterday, covering Nigeria, Kenya, and Zambia, including the insurance architecture that determines when and whether flows resume. Structure before sentiment. canarycompass.com/p/quick-take-t…

Now that H.E Rigathi Gachagua @rigathi has lifted the opaque veil enveloping Northern Kenya and shredded it into smithereens, let us interrogate another important secret that informs the current crisis and the resulting discourse. That is:- What role does the poor level of education of Northern Kenya's political leaders right from Governors, Senators, MPs, Women Representatives, MCAs play in the governance, corruption and underdevelopment crisis facing the region as highlighted by H.E Rigathi Gachagua play in festering the problem? Will it suprise the rest of Kenyans that less than 1% of the elected leaders from Northern Kenya went to school (mean have a genuine university degree). If you come from Mandera, Wajir, Garissa, Isiolo or Marsabit please take a pen and a paper and do this homework. How can political leaders from Northern Kenya prioritise education for our children and the welfare of the people when they scaped certain levels of societal education? @WehliyeMohamed @@AbdikadirMohami @AbdiwahabSheik7 @ASHAKURHUSSEIN

The region received about a third of the peddled $1T since the inception of devolution. Can we urgently get the "missing" $700B first, then we can have the political debate being sought.
Edwin H. Dande@ehdande

Sessional paper number 10 of 1965 may be an issue, but there will be a time and place for that. The CURRENT debate is singularly the 1 Trillion since devolution came into being… where is it? The days of woria and luo leaders hiding behind mt kenya for their ineptitude is now gone. @rigathi let the genie out of the bottle.

The "Trump doctrine" on Somalis boils down to this: demonize an entire community based on wild accusations against a few. This woman nailed the ugly logic of it. History screams warnings—Rwanda's genocide started with dehumanizing lies. Palestine suffers from the same broad-brush hate. When all is said or done, it boils down to resource exploitation in Africa as a whole. Billions of resources will be stolen once all these have settled.

@ledamalekina Why tag these schools as "National" if enrolment is 2 be localised? Gachagua is galactically being moronic here. His wrapped notion, said for political expediency, beats the spirit of nationhood. That said, the ntl gvt ought 2 strengthen the capacities of all ntl schools in KE

Good Morning Kenya! Been thinking hard: Rigathi Gachagua’s reckless tribal baiting over national school slots has ripped open Kenya’s devolution lie. He demands Kikuyu kids get “their share” in elite schools—dressing ethnic greed as equity while stoking fire. Take his poison as our rallying cry: Fully devolve education NOW. Kill the national schools scam. Pour billions into county powerhouses. Let every district breed giants, not beg Nairobi scraps. Devolution or division—choose.

There is a need to conduct a basic audit of how the National Government Development budget was and is still being spent with respect to counties since 1963. That data will certainly put to shame such brazen entitlements from some "mountain quarters."
George Njoroge@georgenjoroge_

Why is Central Kenya is boiling with rage? They’re all asking why do Somalis get a free pass to game the system, just like they did in Minnesota? In America, they arrived as refugees but exploited “equalization” handouts to climb up. Take this shiny new four-storey dormitory at Alliance High School, built by the State Department for Housing to house 640 students. In the current setup, only less then 10 students from central Kenya will get an opportunity there, most of the students will come from “marginalized” communities Pupil A from Wajir or Mandera? Will Slide in with a measly 45 points. Pupil B from Kiambu or Nakuru? Must scrape 99.99 points for the same spot! Yes, the community where this school is at needs an almost a perfect score to get into the very same school. Don’t feed me that “marginalized communities” BS It’s 💯 scam they perpetuate by refusing to develop their areas, keeping the bar low to milk sympathy and privileges forever. Why do they pocket Equalization Funds, then score lower marks for elite schools? Their governors and MPs flaunt massive Nairobi apartments and malls, run the counties from South C and chopper around like kings, while our kids suffer the real inequality? This madness must end; it’s robbing our future blind.
