A word is not a crystal, transparent and unchanged; it is the skin of a living thought and may vary greatly in color and content according to the circumstances and time in which it is used. Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr. Two things: 1) context matters & 2) consider the source.

For this to happen in the heart of one of Queens’ most historic Jewish communities is sickening. There is absolutely no place in our city for this type of vile antisemitism, or hate of any kind. It must be loudly and universally condemned.   I am proud to stand with the congregants of the vandalized synagogues and Jewish New Yorkers everywhere. I trust that the NYPD Hate Crimes Unit will get to the bottom of this and hold the perpetrators accountable to the fullest extent of the law. theguardian.com/us-news/2026/m…

Michigan trial attorney and Democratic fundraiser Kelly Neumann, the co-chairwoman of Senate candidate Mallory McMorrow’s campaign, threatened the Free Beacon with “legal action” unless we retract our story about her Veterans Day Facebook post honoring her grandfather who served “on the German side” in World War II, @AndrewStilesUSA reports.

Today, our partner, the UAE, was once again the target of a vicious missiles and drone attacks originating from Iran. I extend my full solidarity to @MohamedBinZayed, the people of the UAE, and our partners across the Middle East. These attacks are unacceptable and constitute a clear violation of sovereignty and international law. Security in the region has direct consequences for Europe. So we will keep working closely with our partners on de-escalation and diplomatic resolution, to bring an end to the Iranian regime’s brutal actions. Both against its neighbors and its own people.

Of all western propaganda feats, the most bizarre is that American and European leaders can pretend they hate tyranny and seek to defend democracies with their wars, then, seconds later, embrace and prop up the most savage tyrants as their "partners," and so few question it.👇

Israel's mass slaughter in Gaza, enabled by the US, was a moral outrage. And now, as the @nytimes reports, Israel is applying the Gaza model in Lebanon -- and once again we Americans are enabling this moral catastrophe. nytimes.com/interactive/20…

France wants to see the collapse of Mali's government because it would serve as a justification for French interference in Africa. France has a long history sabotaging the independence of certain nations (such as Haiti and Guinea) so that they can argue that these nations were better off under French control. As bad as things are for Africans in the French territories in the Caribbean, the rationalization is that Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Guiana are better under French rule than they would be if they were independent like Haiti.

It is not considered a business. It is a business. Publicly traded. Quarterly earnings calls. Shareholder reports. Stock tickers. CoreCivic: NYSE: CXW. GEO Group: NYSE: GEO. You can buy stock in a company that profits from putting human beings in cages. You can wake up in the morning, open your investment app, and watch your portfolio grow in direct proportion to how many people are locked up that quarter. Your dividend check arrives because a bed stayed full. Because a sentence was long enough. Because a prosecutor pushed hard enough. Because a judge had a mandatory minimum that removed his discretion. Because a lobbyist spent enough money making sure that minimum stayed in the law. This is not a metaphor for capitalism. This is capitalism with the metaphor removed.

@nxt888 Locking people up is considered a business in the USA, human rights never exist in these corporate prison, while other countries treat it as enforcement measure and security measure and it is managed by government most of the time.

France’s Reason for Skipping Slave Trade Vote Is an Insult to Africa France has finally explained why it dodged the UN vote recognising the transatlantic slave trade as the gravest crime against humanity, and the reason is insulting. France says it stayed away because the resolution would create a “hierarchy of crimes.” But this is the same country whose own legal system ranks crimes by severity every day. France’s absence was never about principle but avoiding accountability for crimes committed against Africa, from the slave trade to the forced payments imposed on Haiti after independence. The real question is simple: why does France remember some crimes clearly, but suddenly forgets when Africa is the victim?

US Moves To Dump Afghan Allies In DR Congo The US government is reportedly in talks to send over 1000 Afghan citizens, who collaborated with it in its 2-decade reign of terror over their home country, to the war-torn Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). This development comes as the US has already moved to dump its unwanted deportees in several African nations ruled by weak-willed, pro-Western leaders. The US had previously promised these culturally-challenged Afghans resettlement on its soil, following its official withdrawal from Afghanistan in 2021, only to change its mind on a whim under the leadership of President Donald Trump. To those who recognize the true, treacherous face of the US, this move by the Trump administration comes as no surprise. To the people of Africa, it is the latest in a long line of neocolonial stunts, which they would do well to resist.

Madagascar Detains French National For Destabilization Plot On October 14, 2025, former French colony Madagascar came under new leadership, following an apparently anti-imperialist coup which itself came on the heels of weeks of anti-government protests. This coup saw the ousting of French-aligned former Malagasy President, Andry Nirina Rajoelina, and the ascension to office of current Malagasy President, Colonel Michaël Randrianirina. On February 18, 2026, President Randrianirina made an official state visit to Russia, marking his first major visit to a foreign nation. The visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between Russia – a long ally of Africa’s anti-imperialist struggle – and Madagascar. On April 29, 2026, it was reported that the government of Madagascar had detained a French national and several local collaborators on suspicion of attempting to destabilize the country and sabotage its critical infrastructure. Seen in the light of history and other very recent developments, this chain of events is no coincidence, but speaks to a long and well-documented historical pattern, rooted in Africa’s decades of struggle against colonialism.
