I am pleased to report that the Ethiopian Minister of Health has declared the end of the Marburg virus outbreak. This is the second viral hemorrhagic fever that CDC has successfully helped contain within the last six months.   Under Secretary Kennedy’s leadership, more than 250 responders from CDC provided excellent support to Ethiopia, including through treatment centers and laboratories as well as by promoting infection prevention measures.   CDC continues to help our partners around the globe and safeguard the health and safety of the American people. @cdcgov @seckennedy @FMoHealth
