In an extraordinary act of courage and love, the mothers and grandmothers of #Sanoth village in #Bawana, Delhi, have come together to write a heartfelt letter to the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India. These women; simple, everyday citizens have been living in the shadow of Delhi’s waste-to-energy incinerators for years, watching their children suffer from chronic cough, skin ailments, breathing difficulties, and more. Now, with the threat of a second massive incinerator looming just 800 meters from their homes, they have taken a bold step, directly appealing to the highest court in the country. The letter, written not by lawyers or activists but by mothers driven by fear and love, pleads for the Hon’ble Chief Justice of India to intervene and uphold their fundamental right to life under Article 21 of the Constitution. For over 150 days, the mothers with villagers have been sitting in peaceful protest under the sun and sky, asking one thing: clean air for their children. This letter is not just a document, it is the voice of forgotten families, of those whose lungs have become dumping grounds for the city’s waste. With folded hands, they ask the Chief Justice and the judiciary to stand with them, not in politics, but in humanity. Because every child deserves to breathe clean air💙 @LiveLawIndia @sanjayuvacha @TheStrongTree @pbhushan1 @SauravDassss @LegalTalwar #cleanairforall #kidsfirst #Wte #ourkidsair #becauseweloveourchildren 🔔some of the photos used are not from village Sanoth!
