While it feels helpful, I just cannot shake off the feeling that this is how Anthropic can start to throttle legally. 1. Release new model and say 30% higher usage 2. Ask to use High to do what older models did much better just normal 3. Eventually folks realize they run out much faster Sigh. What a pleasure it was coding using Opus 4.5. And where has it gone to now :(

👋 Is there a specific issue you're hitting? If so, would you mind running /feedback and sharing the id here? That would be most helpful for debugging. There were a number of harness changes that may have caused this, all of which are fixed in the latest (last known issue was fixed in 2.1.116 today). We will be sharing more in a bit, and have also shared a few updated on X/Threads as we've been investigating. General tips: 1. Use Opus 4.7 + xhigh/max effort 2. Make sure you're using the latest version of Claude Code (currently 2.1.116)

@HaneeefShiraz @bcherny Just like all the other channels, it's mostly about boasting how great they are. There's literally no communication about this in any of their channels (three at this point, not counting email?)

@HaneeefShiraz @landforce Enable the settings in Claude Cowork to toggle on Claude Chrome, computer use etc. also you may need to download Claude Chrome Extension. Also just ask Claude to walk you through it and it will tell you. Good luck!

If I use Claude Code is there any reason to ever use Cowork? it seems Cowork is just Claude Code without the dev tooling and with UI for the stuff you're doing.. Every time I use Cowork it seems like I should have just been in Code but Idk if I'm missing something or what

@bcherny @HaneeefShiraz Has anybody tried to roll back to (ie using) 4.6 ? I tried and the context window explodes really fast in a few prompts; same workflow as before.

@bcherny @HaneeefShiraz 1. Not true, you feel the 200k context window fill and compact much quicker than ever. 2. Increased from what? Increased to what? 🦗🦗🦗

@HaneeefShiraz They have already shown their hand. There is no way I will build any type of consumer facing products on top of the Anthropic API. Can you imagine the customer backlash when everything stops working because Anthropic decides to do what they have already shown a willingness to do?

@bcherny Thank you for that. Will check and report back. I had a lot of spaghetti code by 4.6. Now using 4.7 high to resolve them.

@HaneeefShiraz We increased rate limits for all subscribers, so you shouldn’t feel the increased token consumption

I don’t think it can do computer use like go to the browser and click stuff. I think it can programmatically or backend wise access but not as a user from the front end. There are some use cases it can do via that way If Claude code can do it pls let me know, cuz I am missing it then.

I dont get why people use Cowork. It's like Claude Code with shackles. The only thing that's slightly better is the UI.

@moritzkremb Right. I have found use cases where I can get some tasks of mine done through skills. Is it time saving? Yes! Is it game changing? No. Lol. But nevertheless I enjoy using it so I can do something different

@lindsay__stamp Does the 200k mean your investment or you mean the profit. How did it go from 100-200 so fast? You added more money?

It took us 7 years to get $100,000 invested in the stock market. 3 years after that, we crossed $200,000. This week, 1.5 years later, we crossed $300,000. Compound growth is a beautiful thing and I’m grateful we’ve stayed consistent! *BTC in cold storage not included*

I agree if they do this. May be time for Foundational model companies need to start indicating the metrics and guaranteeing it. That way there’s no shady reductions.
Noemi@NoemiTitarenco

@bridgemindai We need consumer protection laws. When you pay for a model, you should get that model.

This is the reality. The rest are just hyping it up. Unless the software is your core business offering, it seems a waste of bandwidth, time, cost to spend on them (and if a side software costs $3million then I can only imaging it brings in a lot more than that making it worth the cost). I was a huge fan of thinking AI can build whatever then I realized, it’s not easy. Nope. It can build small apps for fun. But not these massive mammoths that are already utilizing AI effectively.

@HarryStebbings We looked at replacing small software tools with versions we built and it was a terrible ROI Spent time using AI for minor costs savings instead of outgrowing competitors, had to retrain staff on the tool, and then would find a new fringe case every week we hadn’t to build

I just walked with a $10BN public company CEO. He told me his CoS replaced a piece of software they had been paying $1.2M per year for. It took him 3 weeks to build. F*** me software is more toast than I thought.
