Today is Eid here in Lebanon so of course I$rael decided to fly fighter jets over Beirut and break the sound barrier in a bid to intimidate the people as part of its psychological war. But it will fail.

@IsraelWarRoom People aren’t responsible for their parents. If someone is directly involved or sanctioned, deal with that individually. But going after family members just for association is wrong. Look at Mosab Hassan Yousef.

⚠️🇮🇷 Children of senior Iranian regime figures are studying and teaching at top U.S. universities while millions of Iranians live under repression. Relatives of regime officials have been reported at institutions like Union College, George Washington University, UMass, and others, highlighting a stark contrast between the regime’s anti-West rhetoric and the privileges its inner circle enjoys abroad. While ordinary Iranians face censorship, economic hardship, and political persecution, members of the ruling class build careers and influence inside the very system their government condemns. ‼️ How are we at war with a regime while its elite benefit from the very system they denounce? No regime-linked privilege in America. Stand with the Iranian people. -@nypost

@lorddrey Suez and Panama are entirely within one country, and the St. Lawrence is jointly controlled by the U.S. and Canada - all man-made systems they operate and charge for. Hormuz is a natural international strait, not something Iran owns or can toll.

Iran has kept the Straight of Hormuz toll-free for decades despite being vilified, sanctioned, and Isolated. Egypt charges $300,000 – $700,000+ per transit through the Suez Canal. Ultra-large container ships or tankers can exceed $1 million. Panama charges $150,000 – $450,000 per transit. Large Neopanamax ships cost up to $500,000+ to pass the Panama Canal. Turkey charges fees for the Bosporus Strait. Canada charges fees for the St Lawrence Seaway. The United States charges for the St Lawrence Seaway. But Iran is a bad country.

@Asli_rehan @AviKaner @lorddrey What does that have to do with the Strait of Hormuz? It’s an international waterway, not something Iran gets to control or charge for.

@BHAFC_One @a_zionist Israeli leaders declared independence in the UN-proposed Jewish state when the British left as occupying power. Arabs had the opportunity to do the same in the proposed Arab state. They chose not to. Decided to start a war instead.

Israel's Iron Dome wasn't designed to intercept ballistic missiles arriving from outside the atmosphere. But its relatively cheap Tamir interceptors seem to have developed the ability to do exactly that, as increasing numbers of videos like this show.

@SilverHandFlinn @Saul_Sadka You’re describing capability, I’m talking about role and volume. Arrow handles the vast majority of ballistic threats. Iron Dome is a small, late layer piece.

@SilverHandFlinn @Saul_Sadka We’re saying the same thing, but you’re overstating Iron Dome’s role. Arrow handles ballistic missiles. Iron Dome only deals with anything that slips through late, which is a tiny fraction of the overall defense.

@HankModerate @Saul_Sadka It's indeed not primarily intended as ballistic missile defence. It cannot intercept exoatmospheric missiles, hence the need for the Arrow systems. But it certainly can intercept missiles that are at closer ranges in their terminal phase.

@JayFreaKay Hezbollah initiated this front and has been firing rockets into Israel ever since. Perhaps that context is why "no one cares".

@CunaNduati @Saul_Sadka Terminal phase is still a different problem than true ballistic missile defense. Iron Dome can engage lower-altitude or degraded threats, but that’s not the same as handling intact ballistic missiles at scale. That’s why Arrow exists.

@HankModerate @Saul_Sadka there's no way an iron dome is making a mid course interception, but there's several videos of it making terminal interceptions. not just debris. go to osint technical and type in "tamir"

@CunaNduati @Saul_Sadka Not Arrow, agreed. But that doesn’t make it standard Iron Dome intercepting a ballistic missile either. It looks like terminal phase or debris, not midcourse interception.

@Saul_Sadka You’re mixing systems. Tamir ($50K) is for short-range rockets, not Iranian ballistic missiles. Those are intercepted by Arrow, which costs millions per shot. The cost equation absolutely does not invert.

This obviously inverts the cost equation, since the $50,000 Tamir interceptors are much cheaper than the cheapest IRGC ballistic missile. The cost issue was always a red herring, since Israel is much much richer than Iran, and can easily afford to simply outbuild the Iranians.
