Avalanche Summit: Day 2 🔺 Was honoured to be invited to last night’s V.I.P. dinner at Langan’s – Mayfair’s most exclusive private members’ club near Buckingham Palace! 🏰 Met with several high-net individuals. Great invaluable insights on studio growth and critical contacts within the middle east. Which we at Domi cannot wait to explore! 🪽 While @DomiOnline is still under development (playtest coming soon!), I was humbled by how many attendees recognized our weekly dev updates and expressed belief in $DOMI. As I shared with James from @CNN: We want to be a phoenix amongst the ashes, even more appropriate with the recent studio closures across web3. Finally got the chance to meet @luigidemeo in person after years of watching his rise through @avax - grateful for that moment! Had a great long overdue catch-up with @Gcrod_ to talk all things Domi and @kroniclesgg 🎮 Had the chance to dive in 'Clash of clans' style with @SargeUniverse - very well connected and about to make a home run with their game approach! - Cheers Steve! Also grabbed lunch with @0xWichita - Shared a deep dive into the tech and vision powering @TheKoroshi. Big things ahead! To top it off, met Rhett from @avantprotocol. There's strong potential to integrate with our 'Nobel Prize approach' to sustainable, seasonal rewards for players. Onwards, $DOMI-nators. The grind NEVER STOPS!

I've been speaking to the shortlisted finalists of Founders from @BASE Batches 002 who are building on base @buildonbase. They are dialed in hard and grafting💪. Awesome insights into what's going on in the BASE ecosystem. Excited for more meetings to come this week!

PSA is running the biggest psyops of all time. Given the new Pokemon boom, was gonna submit some childhood Pokémon cards I found to get graded this week. You're telling me its $33 per card and I have to wait 75 days??? But that's not all, if the card is worth more I have to pay more???????? HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO GRADE A SINGLE CARD. I CAN'T IMAGINE THE HARD PLASTIC THEY'RE PUT IN IS THAT EXPENSIVE.

🚀 2026 Kickoff Dev Update – Setbacks, Progress & Momentum Ahead! First, a big infrastructure change we want to openly share: Since late 2024, we have invested alot of time integrating Beam’s SDK across our login, wallet, sphere marketplace, and staking systems, all intended for Open Alpha. Recently, Beam announced a strategic shift away from gaming, meaning their SDK + Sphere Marketplace are no longer supported as of January 2026. This forces us to pause all Beam-dependent features. What this means: • Open Alpha remains our #1 priority • Core gameplay & content are not affected • Some Web3 functionality won’t ship Day 1 • We are actively reviewing long-term infrastructure alternatives While frustrating, we are genuinely thankful this happened before Open Alpha. Releasing our game on an unsupported backend tech would have caused far larger issues down the line. Now, onto what we have been working on! 💪 Despite backend challenges, the team has been making strong progress across gameplay, content, and social systems. 🪵 New Profession: Carpentry We are excited to introduce Carpentry! A new profession deeply integrated into Combat and Blacksmithing. Crafting is now more immersive: wooden components no longer magically appear. Want to craft a pickaxe? You’ll now need to: → Gather logs → Process them at a Sawmill → Craft wooden components As you level, higher-tier timber unlocks better recipes which adds meaningful progression and depth to the crafting ecosystem. Alongside this, we have continued work on: • Player-to-player trading • Voice chat + Discord SDK integration • Final MTX system polish • Network testing across multiplayer features ⚙️Now, the not-so-fun technical battle Our AWS servers began crashing instantly on boot even on empty builds. After days of investigation, we discovered Unity 6.3 now hard-requires glibc 2.35, while Amazon Linux 2023 only supports glibc 2.34, breaking GameLift compatibility with zero warning. Rather than roll back and delay the inevitable, we are migrating to GameLift containers, giving us full control over our Linux environment and permanently solving this class of issues. A painful fix - but a long-term win for Domi Online! Despite a bumpy start to 2026, momentum is building fast. Thank you for sticking with us - weekly dev updates resume next week ❤️

@0xfoobar Any chance you’d offer a quick tldr on how to identify which pieces/contracts allow ipfs usage and which have metadata hardcoded to their centralized servers which will lead to total loss if (when) they shutter? Think a lot of people have this question/concern.

Nifty Gateway is shutting down, and they’re negligently destroying millions of dollars of NFTs One of the first NFT marketplaces before OpenSea, their ethos was to simply copy traditional auction houses. Centralized custodial wallets, credit cards over crypto, web2 servers instead of blockchain infra. Then when the ‘21 NFT bubble hit, they switched from a crypto-minimized calm art site to lavish hyped celeb drops - Beeple, Pak, Fewocious. These leading drops were visually interesting, but most notoriety value came from crypto-adjacency. Pak an outright rug, Beeple polarizing, and Fewocious a mental mess. Despite crypto being the value driver and value premium for the platform, Nifty never tried to do anything crypto-related. All NFTs were minted on a centralized single contract that mixed together different pieces, different artists all in one messy blob. Images and descriptions and other metadata never came onchain (like cryptopunks), or even to decentralized storage (like ipfs or arweave). They just threw it in fickle cloud storage on low-quality web2 backends. Hundreds of millions of dollars of volume, and Nifty never bothered to write a single decentralized smart contract. Fast-forward five years. It’s a crypto winter, fake acquisitions of failing startups left and right. Nifty announces a full platform shutdown, effective one month later. “Withdraw your NFTs before it’s too late.” They’re planning to delete your wallets, wipe their storage, and ultimately delete whatever fake loose blockchain links ever existed from web2 NFTs to the real art. Nifty couldn’t be bothered to harden or decentralize the infra over many years, and now unwilling to even offer batch migration tooling for their fake crypto platform. Every art that ever touched Nifty will receive a steep valuation discount because of how poorly they stewarded the platform. Even competitors like OpenSea made huge advances like Seaport to decentralized crypto tech. For Nifty, it’s not even zero contribution - just a big fat minus sign. Goodbye and good riddance

Some personal news* - After nearly 5 years, I’ve made the decision to step down from my role as Chief Strategy Officer of @AvaLabs. This comes after a lengthy period of conversations and reflection. Officially, and for the past several months, I’ve been transitioning out of my responsibilities and preparing for a new chapter. Since joining in early 2021, just months after Avalanche's mainnet launch, when our team was a lean group of ~20 people, @avax has been my home, my passion, and a defining part of my career. We've delivered countless upgrades, scaled a network attracting billions in capital across more than 80 chains, brought major banks, asset managers, and enterprises onchain, powered gaming ecosystems, and fostered a vibrant community. I'm proud of what we've built together and the role I was able to play in it. I will forever be grateful to all the people at Ava Labs and the broader Avalanche ecosystem but in particular @el33th4xor, @John1wu, @kevinsekniqi and @JohnNahas84 for the opportunities to grow both personally and professionally. It's a rare privilege to contribute to such a talented team driven by an ambitious mission. As for Avalanche, I remain a believer in the technology, the opportunity, and many of my colleagues. I’ll continue observing, building, advising where valuable, and supporting from the sidelines. I plan to complete my non-operating term as one of the Board Directors for the Avalanche Foundation, which concludes in a few months. As for what’s next, for now I'm pausing to recharge. I’ll be catching up on precious family time (including with our third child, now six months old) and investing in myself a bit. I have and will continue having conversations about where I’m best positioned to contribute to this industry, perhaps as a founder or in another role. I remain as optimistic as ever that blockchains will transform the internet and I intend to contribute my energy towards that future. Stay tuned! -Luigi
