While the politically correct love to shriek that it’s “disrespectful” to “interrupt” a Dawn Service, the real disrespect and vile interruption is their arrogant hijacking of this traditional ceremony — ramming a "Welcome to Country" down everyone’s throat right from the very start. The Cenotaph at Martin Place is a sacred site that belongs to ALL Australians — not some stage for woke, divisive virtue-signalling and pushing political agendas. “Welcoming” returned servicemen and the families of those who made the ultimate sacrifice to the land that they fought for is not just insulting, it’s offensive. The dawn service provides us a solemn opportunity to reflect on the sacrifices our ancestors made so that we can live in a free country. From a young age, I have imagined at dawn services, "what would I do?" Could I jump out of a boat into Turkish artillery and gunfire at the crack of dawn? Our veterans showed that courage, and today we honour their commitment and love of Australia. Thank you to the Albury RSL and community for putting on a moving ceremony this morning. The Albury Cenotaph is one of the most stunning in Australia.
