@AlaskaAir paid for assigned premium seats when I booked. Go to check in for my trip & find that you overbooked the Flight & my young children have been assigned seats next with strangers while my wife and I don’t have seats at all. How’s this supposed to work?

Dropping stuff off for my kid @UChicago undergrad campus and got aggressively questioned if I was “the Uber for Kelly?” Felt like Kelly didn’t believe my answer. Always identified more with Deadpool than Dopinder but now I’m wondering…

Comprehensive vascular care, what does this branding even mean. Go to remote areas of the USA and there are no vascular surgeons. There are interventional radiologists, cardiologists, some general surgeons, and even some cardiac surgeons doing the work.

@Atul_SharmaMD @mmamas1973 Will take a while in specialty care but already happening in primary care & peds. Some states allowing independent practice now. Never say never esp if lower cost of care.

@HashimKhan_1 @mmamas1973 Possibly in places where no physicians want to be, but for a myriad of reasons, I can’t see this happening en masse throughout the US.

1. I'm a consultant interventional Cardiology that has performed thousands of interventional procedures in patients with heart attacks . Similar procedures are performed in patients with strokes but there are not enough people to deliver these- so patients die or are left with lifelong disabilities. We are being blocked as Cardiologists doing these life-saving procedures in patients with strokes because we apparently lack training 😳 🙄but PAs with no medical training and a two year masters can be trained in interventional radiology 😳
Dr Done@Dr_Done_

So GMC rejected proposals for Neurosurgeons to train in some IR procedures, but has no criticism of PAs training in IR procedures. Or neurosurgery for that matter. The walls will come crumbing soon. 🔥

@mmamas1973 Honestly I’m unclear why there isn’t public outrage about all of this? Physician Assistants are fine as ASSISTANTS but to cast aside well trained doctors to have others who are minimally trained assume the primary care for all types of patients is madness!

@ShariqShamimMD Despite knowing this the majority of docs have abandoned private practice where they have ownership control & become hospital or private equity cogs.

I honestly would be happier being Barbie enjoying life than Oppenheimer awaiting the disaster of atomic war. There was no gender thought when I made this post. It was about lifestyle. I’m sorry if it offended you.

@SIDECHICKVIR @anals_of_IR @GhostofDotter Trolls gets troll responses. Let me guess, you’re a recent grad, hired by a small group or working for a small hospital, disillusioned because it’s not Y90, TIPS or gastric bleed embo all day, decided to make a series of anon spam accounts instead of marketing yourself IRL

My sentiment is consistent. If you get the appropriate training, everything is open to everyone. I find radiologist reading echos odd because I’ve never come across it in my practice, but I suggested the accelerated path to get it done if they want it.

@AEslamiDO @Tabaza @ABIMFoundation True that! If scai, tct, acc etc just said F you to abim & created their own legit board they wouldn’t dare play these games. But sadly our “leaders” are falling in line as well so what choice do us plebeians have but to pay them.

What gives them the right to list one as “Not certified” when they have passed the Certification examination???? This should be the last straw for @ABIMFoundation
Sunil V. Rao@SVRaoMD

The @ABIMFoundation now lists those who have paid for, taken, & passed the certification exam as "not certified" if they don't pay the MOC fee(s). Anyone find this defensible?

@DRCJWhite I’m NBPAS certified. But what’s the point? A decade since inception neither the state of CA or my hospitals recognize it. Crazier thing is I work at the same hospitals as NBPAS founder @PaulTeirstein & our med staff wants ABIM cert.

@AdeelShahidMD One of the things that was attractive to many about IR or DR was the lack of clinic. Will be hard to make a proceduralist a clinic doc. Will be honest here- clinic isn’t really “fun” for many. I would rather be in the cath lab all day.

I’ll start. Clinic is a must. Being a technician is not sustainable. If you don’t make time for clinic, pretty soon those cases you want to do will end up going someplace else. It is not enough to be good at doing the case. We need to be able to manage diseases.
