The issue of abandoned wrecks in 1960s Britain. Nowadays, abandoning a vehicle on a public road or land in the UK is a criminal offence under the Refuse Disposal (Amenity) Act 1978, which can lead to significant fines, prosecution, and the vehicle being destroyed. I'm not sure they'd care if it was destroyed, but I doubt they'd fancy the fines of today. 🚗⏳️

This afternoon the young man seen running from the vehicle received a call from the Israeli army telling him he could die alone or die with his family in the car. He ran from the vehicle into a field and was struck and killed by an Israeli drone. This is not the first time that the Israeli army has used this tactic. It is pure barbarism. Abject terrorism.

There is no rise in anti-Semitism. There is a rise in the number of people who are very angry at what Israel is doing. Your inability to separate the two is equally problematic.

The thing about Jim Crow and Apartheid is they rewarded mediocrity. This guy is so unimpressive but has supremacy over his victims because he’s empowered by the law.

Hard to know what to believe in relation to the Mandelson revelations tonight. But one aspect being ignored is that Starmer must not have asked to personally see the results of the Developed Vetting that Mandelson is said to have failed - SIX MONTHS after the scandal first broke. To repeat: if Starmer is genuinely just finding out now, it means he had never, not once, asked to see the actual vetting report himself, about a scandal bringing down his government - for SIX MONTHS. He's been repeatedly blindsided, on his version, about information he could have asked for and seen at any time. Information most people would want to see, even out of sheer self-preservation, to make sure no more skeletons were due to come out. Is he simply the most incurious person in the world? How was he ever DPP?

Starmer and most of the @UKLabour front bench refuse to afford Jeremy Corbyn the basic formal courtesies when responding to one of his questions in Parliament. Starmer refers to Corbyn in the third person as ‘him’. I bet that if Peter Mandelson was still an MP sitting in the Commons, Starmer would respectfully address him as ‘The Right Honourable’. That is the true indicator of Starmer’s factional loyalties and moral universe. Mandelson’s past associations and conduct will have meant nothing to Starmer. What mattered is that he and Mandelson have been caught out. Everything else that’s followed is damage limitation. @BethRigby @PippaCrerar @guardian @SkyNews

💢 HORRIFIC: Lebanon “death call” drone strike A man was killed in an Israeli drone strike moments after leaving his family to avoid putting them at risk, according to accounts circulating from southern Lebanon. Videos show him exiting his vehicle and running into a nearby field before being targeted and killed. Footage shows the moments before the strike, with the man fleeing the area alone. The incident echoes a previously documented case in Tallousa, near the Israeli border, where 62-year-old Ahmad Tarmas reportedly received a call from the Israeli army asking whether he wanted to “die alone or with his family.” He left his home and was killed minutes later in a drone strike. Similar “death call” accounts have been reported in southern Lebanon, journalist Radwan Mortada reported.

Insiders told me and @kitty_donaldson at the time that the Foreign Office was asked to complete the Mandelson’s security screening as quickly as possible to get him in post, under pressure from No 10 officials. Do we really think the FCDO wouldn’t notify number 10 of a failure in the process?

“No part of the vetting process was removed, or skipped in the case of Peter Mandelson”. That's what Downing Street told me when I reported that the govt had rushed through Mandelson's vetting. It is starting to look like yet another lie. On 30 January last year Mandelson received a letter stating: “Your security clearance has been confirmed by [the] vetting unit and is valid until 29 January, 2030." But this picture of him entering Downing Street shows he was given a DV pass weeks earlier. Now we learn he never actually passed. This is scandalous.

Reading this at the moment. The section on Nazi-Zionist collaboration is mind-blowing. Did you know the Zionists brought Adolf Eichmann—key to the destruction of European Jewry—to Palestine in 1937? Eichmann wrote in the SS paper he was “in complete agreement with” Zionism.

Uk Security Vetting is an necessarily apolitical process. I'm assuming that whoever overturned the refusal of DV for Mandelson was constrained by rules saying they could not inform politicians. Bizarre but the most logical explanation.

Saiqa Ali’s racist views should end her political career. She is not fit for public office. @ZackPolanski has repeatedly failed to act, refusing to kick racists out of his own party. Why is he protecting this? Welcome to the new @TheGreenParty

Where does all the hated come from? Just pop down to your local newsagents and buy some hated. Imagine if the Jewish community had tabloid headlines like this thrown at them on a regular basis. They would have every right to think it’s discriminatory. Yet headlines like this are regularly pumped out against Muslims. A negative narrative against the many Muslims in the UK who are hard working, law abiding citizens and get tarred by the same brush of grim headlines like this.
