10 years ago today, the most purely lethal force of nature I have ever witnessed unfolded, and as it crossed I-70 I put a camera into it. A truly once in a lifetime moment long before I could fully appreciate what an incredible thing I had experienced.

#OTD 10 years ago I witnessed my #1 tornado of all time near Chapman, KS. Documented this tornado for 90 minutes from start to finish across its 16 mile path with multiple close range intercepts and a singular tornado taking on about every shape and size possible. I’m not sure this tornado ever will ever be topped from its benchmark. I’ll remember this chase for the rest of my life.

Update: in the last 45 minutes I have gotten through 3 minutes and 27 seconds of lord of the rings in 15 second intervals between 500 unnecessary announcements and commercials.

Another fun issue for the mix is 5000 people descending on a community that normally sees about 300 with enough bad apples driving like fucking assholes while they try to shelter or respond, someone is absolutely going to get shot by a local on one of these setups.

ESPECIALLY with the way I always see tourists getting out of the van and immediately hopping a fence.
