#Telesimulation for #HeartSurgery from the #Moon! Today, I conducted successful experiments with my #AppleVisionPro combined with the tele-simulators I developed for mitral valve surgery. Although we have already demonstrated the proof-of-concept for distance teaching and skill training using these interconnected online simulators (see publication here: journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/15…), the addition of Apple Vision Pro provided a multimodal #immersive teaching experience. This technology allows for direct #mixedreality teaching material to be readily available! Conducting this in an immersive environment, even from the moon, adds another layer of experience, showing that it can be done from anywhere. @Apple #Innovation #healthcare

#listentoyourheart We had a highly successful Heart Valve Disease Training in Dublin! This collaborative project between the @GlobalHeartHub and the @HeartTeamAcad trained over 40 representatives from patient organizations across 17 different countries. #listentoyourheart: Raising awareness and educating #patients about the workings of the #heart, #heartvalvediseases, the consequences of heart valve disease, and the care process. We aim to empower patients to take care of their hearts by listening to their bodies and fostering collaboration between patient organizations and physicians to overcome challenges!

Proud moment! I stepped out of my scrubs today! Pictured here, our final year resident (Shokoufeh Cheheili Sobbi) is performing a fully #endoscopic #mitralvalverepair. I believe she might be the first in the world trained to undertake a fully endoscopic mitral valve surgery during her residency, and the first female surgeon to achieve this milestone. Additionally, she is advancing her expertise by pursuing a PhD on simulation training for endoscopic mitral valve surgery under my supervision. All of this has been made possible due to her fierce dedication, our dedicated #simulationtraining program, and the super standardized procedure we have developed! #surgicaleducation #cardiacsurgery
