@Tom530934028641 @intheairupthere @BuzzPatterson All the RNAV App and the PAPI are 3.0 degree but I’m sure the pilot flying dropped the nose a tad because it’s a 6501 ft runway which is pretty damn short for the 76-400 could happen to anyone even experienced pilots

Here’s the data on the United 767 that hit the truck and light pole on short final. The speed looks about right. Maybe a bit slow. The descent rate at that height, however, is insane. That’s the definition of “unstable approach.”

@intheairupthere @BuzzPatterson Depending on landing weight and a VRef of 141 I’m guessing around 320,000 pounds landing weight …895 v/s is pretty normal we won’t get a sink rate call till around 950 to 1000 v/s ….this is a 76-400

Can I say something without making everyone (airline pilots) mad? I’d argue that charter & corporate pilots are MORE experienced than airline pilots. They may fly less hours/year but go to wider variety of places, more challenging airports, and do all their own flight planning
