I attended HRS and this topic was presented. As an athlete and arrhythmia patient, I have personally experienced positive cardiovascular results using low dose GLP-1 over the last two years. I have reviewed my performance and heart rate data to confirm the results. Very exciting information!

I have also been taking low-dose tirzepatide for 2+ years. I did this as for cardiovascular protection and performance. I am an athlete and life long heart patient. My CPET VO2 Max data shows that I am now top 1% for my age and gender. What I did not expect is the mental calming. It has been amazing at reducing the heart anxiety I felt when racing. Thank you for your article! ❤️‍🩹

This is the most personal thing I've published. I've been taking low-dose tirzepatide for 2 years. Not for weight loss. Not for diabetes. I'm a physician who made a calculated bet on the multi-organ potential of this drug class. I know how some colleagues will read this. I know exactly how the internet will reduce it: "Doctor admits to using Ozempic for productivity." That's not what this is. But staying silent felt worse than being misunderstood. ⚠️ I don't endorse others doing what I've done — my clinical background affords a level of informed consent that most people don't have. @Robertlistens @KREM2 I live in Idaho and work for a company located in Boston. The company provides a list of corporate holidays. Juneteenth is now a company holiday, but they removed Presidents Day as a company holiday.

@KREM2 Juneteenth absolutely should be recognized as a holiday. It marks an incredibly significant change for the good in the USA.

February is Heart Month, and I am celebrating innovation in cardiac care and improvements in patient outcomes. This week marks 16 years since my open heart surgery. Thanks to digital health tools, wearables, and engaged physicians, I am thriving, racing bikes, and living my best life. It is essential to inspire heart patients to be active and build strong, resilient hearts. Thank you to the Heart Rhythm Society @HRSonline, American College of Cardiology @ACCinTouch and the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute @PCORI for leading the development of programs for Patient Engagement across the healthcare ecosystem. Most importantly, I am grateful for the pacemaker in my chest from Boston Scientific Cardiology @BSCCardiology and the bikes I race from Pivot Cycles @pivotcycles . Happy Heart Month!

Living with heart disease can lead to feelings of depression and anxiety, hindering an active lifestyle for many individuals. Patients often express a desire to witness examples of individuals engaging in sports activities. It's crucial to highlight more "Heart Heroes" who embody living life to the fullest. By leveraging digital health tools, heart wellness information, and peer-to-peer support, we can empower patients to confidently embrace a more active lifestyle. Personally, post open heart surgery, reliance on a pacemaker, and managing heart failure, I have found joy and strength in racing mountain bikes. My journey proves that despite medical challenges, pursuing one's passions knows no bounds. Let's work together to inspire and support more heart patients in conquering their fears and uncovering their true passions

@HeidiDohse Our stories are very much alike. Symptoms throughout my childhood with no diagnosis other than reduced blood flow. 3x state champion, runner as adult until my diagnosis at 47. Open heart surgery and other procedures. Ran 5 this morning. One of the lucky ones. ❤️‍🩹

@AmiBhattMD As an athlete and heart patient, wearable devices like the Apple and Garmin watches provide me detailed cardiovascular information to allow me to manage my heart health and improve athletic performance. I use the data to communicate with my cardiologist and plan my race training.

The Apple Watch gets a lot of attention. Why? Let's talk about what it can and can't do for your heart. Medical professionals and patients, see below for the ACC Apple Watch Guide. As always, this is not medical advice. For those who are new to digital health, here's an example of how FDA approved wearables are quietly transforming cardiovascular care:

Medical device innovation is important to patients. Optimizing the device for a patient’s lifestyle makes a difference! I have been “product testing” Boston Scientific Cardiology pacemakers for 40+ years. I just completed the BC Bike Race 7 day mountain bike stage race on the podium. I am not limited by my device and I use the data from my Garmin watch to stay safe. Everything is possible when the patient’s goals and device settings are aligned!

It was an honor to speak at the Southern Association of Cardiovascular & Pulmonary Rehabilitation (SACPR) Spring Conference in Cleveland, MS! I presented on the topic of Cardiac Rehab for active patients and the benefits of CIED optimization based on lifestyle and activity levels. This includes the use of wearable devices and digital health tools. @HRSonline @EPLabDigest @Sports_CardioNL @experienceHRX @BSCCardiology
