The day 10 ECM mean has easterly winds across the UK with snow likely becoming a feature of the forecast. Unfortunately it’s 10 days away and we’ve been here once already this winter.

It’s not imperative we see a reversal and major SSW a greatly weakened vortex is enough, we are already seeing a disconnect at the moment with Arctic Oscillation already -ve this is likely to be reinforced. Indeed I don’t think many would like the danger a huge reversal would bring regarding the spring.

To end this week the stratospheric zonal wind is much stronger than average with 40m/s westerlies. It is amping up the Atlantic. By the 2nd week of February the ensemble average is closer to 5m/s with plenty interested in reversal to easterlies indicating a major SSW has occurred. This leans greater credence to colder weather developing further into Feb.

@Adamjay1878 @HelenAdams85 @GrahamSmyth Follow the text , Adam. That was hardly a battering . A battering is constant shots on our goal , tons of corners . Our keeper had one shot to save prior to their goal.. I've seen plenty of batterings in my time as a Leeds fan. That wasn't one of them.
