@KMFollett @CILIPinfo Exactly why I became a librarian. Now I'm an archivist but still love libraries and books.

Discovering the library as a child was one of the greatest joys of my life and I wouldn't be where I am today without the books I read there. I would like to say thank you to librarians for everything they do, both for reading and for their communities. #SupportYourLibrary

I’m not one for complaining but I am gutted! I spent 27 years in the Army and today I was going to vote in my local elections. I was sadly turned away at the door as my Veteran ID was not allowed as formal ID. I will be fighting for this “special ID” to be “more” formal🇬🇧

Fact Three: In 1806 the Prince Regent and Duke of Clarence (George IV & William IV respectively) were staying on South Parade. After helping local constables usher offenders into the town gaol, a prank was played on the Duke where he was locked in a cell for the night.

@MayorRos @hornsbylj Born 2 years before all women over 21 got the vote, became a female monarch in a very male orientated world. But 70 years later we mourn the most admired and most well known woman in the world. Definitely a role model for all girls and women. ❤️👑 Thank you HMQ.

@DALS1194 I feel like the broken trolley after 2 months of hard work getting our collections back. Tired but very happy to see them return. A well earned Bank Holiday then looking at bringing the Local Studies collection over. It's been fantastic working with our colleagues. Thanks all. ❤️

Our last lorry load of archival collections has been delivered safely to our new home and our hardworking trolley sums up how we all feel right now. We're tired but happy to see the progress we're making and ready to resume getting things onto shelves after the Jubilee weekend

What am incredible effort by the team. It’s been a long journey and it’s not over yet, but at least the archives are home again. Watch out for more news In the coming weeks to see how our new archives and and local history centre takes shape. lnkd.in/ef7xJyAW
