Gm. Hong Kong was wild and have so many awesome pics and vids but this is one of my fav. Some thoughts on this photo as it has been making its rounds across different social platforms and photos like this provokes a lot of discussion. No this is not “fake” but uses a technique called lens compression to sandwich elements in a scene in this case the stadiums, skyline and mountains. You can see every element of this photo with your own eyes but it won’t look like this photo. But you can achieve this same photo by zooming in with your cell phone. a good zoom lens dos go a long way with this type of photo. Clarity like this with the details in the mountains only happens when the air is clear as this is shot from the Southbay. Sunset is also a better time as the sun is shining directly on the mountains providing the needed contrast as compared to sunrise where it will be more of a backlit scene. Yes the photo is edited through my standard photo editing style which generally adds a pop of contrast to a raw file straight out of the camera. Understanding the right light and how that affects a given photo is much more important to a success of a photo. Lastly please credit photographers. We are all out here trying to make a living off our work. Visibility goes a LONG way 🙏

In 2019, I left the stable office job to pursue a life as a traveling photographer. With a lot of grit and a little grace, I explore what it means to be human. everyone tells me I am crazy.. and maybe I am. But I am not wrong. I chose a life of curiosity over comfort. My savings got sold for a suitcase and the camera became my compass. I traded financial security for the freedom to survive as a creative. On the first morning of 2020, after a freezing 2am start, and a brutal climb straight up, I saw the sun burn the stars away by the shores of Laguna de los Tres. And in those first moments of 2020, I had a rare breath of absolute clarity and so much hope. That was a good morning. The next time I had such a moment was in 2021, when I found something more valuable than any paycheck: art communities on X. The kayak symbolised solitude. We all have our own ways toward a common goal. The red symbolises the digital frontier we’re bleeding for... our skin in this game will shape the new world. I left the systems that told me how to live and stepped into a life full of GMs and frens. I still have that same energy here with you all. So this GM is For those of us choosing to shape culture. For the ones climbing steep paths with heavy packs on. For the ones who believe the light will come even after everyone else has left...
