Stripe just held their first crypto event and I don't think people realize how big of a deal this is.
@patrickc just gave the most bullish crypto talk I've ever heard,
straight from the man running the internet's payment layer.
Here's what I took away:
1/ Stablecoins aren't speculative anymore, they're settlement rails.
Stripe acquired @Stablecoin + @privy_io & is powering stablecoin cards in 100+ countries.
@SpaceX, @Meta are all using Bridge for cross-border money movement. Not because it's crypto, but because it's faster and cheaper.

2/ Agents are the next payment endpoint.
Stripe launched Machine Payments Protocol (MPP) on @tempo the same day, which lets AI agents authorize, spend, and settle autonomously.
OAuth, but for money.
But as @lay2000lbs pointed out, when agents do everything, proving you're human becomes the most valuable primitive on the internet.

3/ The best ideas are hiding in plain sight.
@zcabrams opened by sharing how he started Bridge in 2022 thinking everyone would build stablecoin infra.
Nobody did. Stripe acquired it for $1.1B two years later.
The crypto stack still has massive gaps waiting for someone to just go do it.

4/ Crypto is growing up, and it's not accidental.
The room was @apolloglobal, @tryramp, @aave, @Morpho
@cmoyall from Apollo shared how she navigates internal buy-in for crypto at legacy institutions like JPMorgan & Apollo.
Institutional adoption isn't a question of "if" anymore, it's organizational patience.

5/ TradFi is building with crypto, not against it.
The popular narrative is @coinbase vs banks, but that's not what's actually happening.
It's teams like @stripe, @RobinhoodApp, @krakenfx legitimizing crypto from the inside, making it easier for institutions to build on these rails.
