@jessica_r_bee @Headteacherchat That is so true. Successive governments are reducing education to a desperate worn out group of well intentioned people who can’t win. Education should be at the forefront of every government agenda.

I am so angry that everyone seems to accept this as the norm. It’s fuxxing inhumane. Great teachers and leaders are being rinsed of every ounce of positivity by governments who chase votes instead of doing what’s right.

@ICT_MrP Is it now the expected and the norm for Head Teachers to work to exhaustion / burnout and then have time off. Recover enough to go back to repeat the cycle again. Thinks what’s happening to my wife. It’s both heartbreaking and depressing that the system does this.

@englandcricket Catches win matches. Not good enough yet again. Easy to win the matches that don’t matter. Ashes - fail, wt20 - fail. Need a stiff broom and sweep clean the chaff. And order a slice of humbleness at the same time. Arrogance only works when you are good enough

India were always going to overpower us here. England just have not been playing good enough cricket to compete with this India side.

@jamieoliver Jamie, I understand your desire to get kids eating healthily but the rules now are putting kids off eating the school food as it is tasteless and ugly. I don’t believe you could cook for my wife’s school and they enjoy it. I challenge you to do it.

@NCG_com Yes yes and yes. Too many bandits getting more than a shot a hole. They have ruined club comps. In fact nothing more than a playing handicap of 18. Not a WHS pf 18

Should their be a limit on your handicap in order to win a prize at your club? 👀

@Headteacherchat If it’s so important ask the head or deputy head to do it. If they baulk at the idea, then ask yourself why & dig into the SLT culture. In schools with good staff cultures questions like this don’t arise. They need to redesign the swap-over system not paper over with staffing.

Anon post: Would it be reasonable to ask teaching staff to supervise a 15-minute lunch duty? They currently have a full hour for their break. The goal is to ease the pressure during the challenging 'swap-over' times.

The Sunday night dread... why do we get it as teachers and school staff and why does it hit different to other jobs?

@Fit_For_Golf What if you are an incredible physical specimen where you are too strong and too flexible? Should you actually be trying to get weaker and less mobile? Asking for a friend. 😎

In general, golfers overvalue flexibility and undervalue strength. In general, golfers think they rank a lot a higher in strength than they do flexibility, and are often wrong. Work on both, but strength should get far more of most golfers limited training time.

@RupraRoshan Teachers can earn more at Tesco yet they still teach and don’t strike like you lot. You got 29.8% last year or so. What about the rest of the public sector. What happened for the love of the job. All the golf clubs are stacked with retired drs in their 50’s.

@HelpTheHeads @Headteacherchat Take. The. Laptop. Off. Her. Pick her up from school at 5pm. Insist that she does no school work when not in school. The school will replace her in HOURS if she dies. You cannot do that.

@Headteacherchat how do I support my spouse who is working 80 hours a week? Doesn’t get a coffee, break or food during the day. She is shot at from every direction and has no cover. Things get said to her that would lead to disciplinary if she said them. Staff wellbeing only

@NTHeadteacher It amazes me, coming from a diff background, how resilient you all are. You are willing to take the sh*t for the good of the children but I really want to shout for you. The reducing money needs changing at govt level and this lot are no better

Sadly, this is a reality for us as leaders. Teaching & learning was the main job but no longer can be given multiple demands on schools. SEND & family need ever increasing, no funding, budgets are shot, LA do not understand reality on the ground. HTs are shot at from all sides.
