Communism requires a strict authoritarian power structure to remain minimally functional. When the productive find out that they are no better off than the useless eaters then the system breaks down. The only reason to do anything is fear of state retribution and the elimination of incentives is destructive to productivity. This in addition to the removal of market price signals makes most labor be directed towards pet projects of economic planners rather than the demands of purchasers and results in limited options for everyone. Because of human nature to rise in affluence and power, some will rise as a result of their obeisance to the state apparatus and become the authoritarian enforcers and masters. From each according to his ability and to each according to his need requires an arbiter to determine abilities and needs and results in political favoritism and inefficiency in production as soon there will not be enough ability to keep up with the need. Communism requires blind adherence to the state and acceptance of economic planning that leave a huge mass of society wanting and a small segment of society running the show. People hate communism because for the vast majority it’s a shitty way to live. Maybe read a book or two instead of blindly lapping up the utopian bullshit that you are being fed about the benefits of communism.
