@HesychasmDan

Odds are: you are here because you stopped behaving yourself epistemically, so I tweaked you.

I must say I am *shocked* at how many of the highly ‘virtuous and kind’ left wing media and establishment politicians have revealed they view living near asylum seekers is a “punishment”. Whoever would have thought!

@thelefttake @ZiaYusufUK And, again (seeing as you appear to be struggling with this concept): one cannot punish another by giving them what they want. The verb you are looking for is "reward." You cannot call it punishment without conceding that the facilities are dangerous. It's check mate.

@HesychasmDan @ZiaYusufUK You need to be told that concentration camps are disgusting and that specifically building them in areas with the intent to punish certain voters is vindictive? Are you a sociopath?

@thelefttake @ZiaYusufUK Calling detention centers for illegal immigrants "concentration camps" is heinously offensive to the people who were worked or starved to death in German camps based on their immutable characteristics. Shame on you.

@thelefttake @ZiaYusufUK You've been outmaneuvered because you can't even address the contents of my tweet without resorting to "disgusting" this and "vindictive" that. For voters who are suffering economically, the common sense contradiction I've flagged is dispositive for trust.

@HesychasmDan @ZiaYusufUK How have I been outmanoeuvred? The average voter will see this as a disgusting vindictive policy regardless of whether they care about asylum seekers being housed near them?

@thelefttake @ZiaYusufUK You've just been outmaneuvered. Everyone can see it. One cannot be "punished" by receiving something they actively solicit. You can either condemn Reform here or maintain your silly Green views, but you cannot credibly do both.

@ZiaYusufUK Really, it shocks you that most normal people find the idea of a political party actively targeting voters with something it considers to be punitive measures for not voting them disgusting? Disgusting rhetoric. You’ve exposed just how nasty, vindictive and out of touch you are.

Nigel Farage has committed prosecutable election offences with this video under the Representation of the People Act 1983. The Act prohibits inducing voters through the threat of “temporal injury”, which includes material disadvantage such as the targeted imposition of government burdens. Threatening to specifically house illegal migrants in a constituency if it does not vote Reform is coercive and constitutes a criminal offence.
Nigel Farage MP@Nigel_Farage

If you vote Reform you will not have an illegal migrant deportation facility in your area. We will hold migrants awaiting deportation in constituencies that vote Green instead. You get what you vote for.

After I’d been in the convent 2 years and I realized how much I loved my vocation, I told God that he would have to make it extremely obvious if he ever wanted me to leave. Guess what he did.

@redeemed_zoomer Awesome! Does that mean you will stop being uncharitable toward Catholics using Straw man arguments, and simplifying our deep 2000 year old faith into a caricature you can attack? 😊

We were never mean to him because he had “slight criticisms”. He called the Sacred Heart of Jesus “nestorian” on the Feast Day and has frequently mischaracterized what we believe in order to forward his larp of saving the gay mainline parish with 4 remaining boomers.
Lizzie Marbach@LizzieMarbach

.@redeemed_zoomer describes the reaction he received when he began to respectfully defend his Protestant beliefs against RCC and EO. “There was a severe hostility and nastiness from those communities the second I began to criticize them slightly, which reminded me a lot of the leftist I encountered in high school.” Yup, unfortunate reality. This is the exact same thing that I’ve been saying for a long time too. Same exact experience.

@KeruboSk @halftroll Agree with the tweeter above re your response. But you don't HAVE to see your husband's suggestion as a red flag. It's not unreasonable to be scared and make a silly suggestion. Leave space for him to be non-maliciously imperfect. IMO, only red flag if he resists your counter.

My boyfriend and I are planning to buy a house together after dating for 3 years. He earns significantly more than I do, so he’d be contributing about 70% of the down payment. Because of that, he wants the house to be only in his name. He says it’s just “fair” based on the numbers, but we’d both be living there, splitting bills, and building a life together. I’ve been watching a lot of relationship content about equity vs equality, and it made me realize things don’t always have to be 50/50 but this feels like I’d have no security at all. He said if we ever broke up, he’d “do the right thing,” but that doesn’t really reassure me. My friends say don’t move in unless my name is on it. His friends apparently think I’m being entitled. Now I feel stuck between trusting him and protecting myself. Is this a red flag I’m trying too hard to rationalize?

I personally can’t imagine giving birth to a child whose only experience in life would be pain and death, just so I could feel better about myself on some fucked up moral level?

Just for context it wasn't just a DHS lawyer. It was DHS General Counsel James Percival, who wrote the DHS memo / WSJ oped saying ICE could use administrative warrants in place of a judicial warrant. And he was invited to speak at UCLA. What did they think was going to happen.
YitzyFrankel@YitZionist

Truly abhorrent and unimaginable behavior today at the @FedSocUCLA event that hosted a @DHSgov lawyer. Leftist students repeatedly disrupted the event, yelled profanities, shouted, made their phones ping incessantly, and eventually stormed out to a rally that violated all time, place, and manner restrictions. These students can’t handle @FedSoc event about the law, but will remain students at @UCLA_Law and eventually be admitted to the Bar. It is a damning indictment on higher education that students behave so despicably.

Considering the amount of women I know who’ve gone through divorces and come out the other end, I feel 100% affirmed in my choice to not marry. Not-all-women, of course, but most are happier post-divorce and were unhappy-to-miserable in their marriages. I do understand the purpose of marriage—for the kids—but in general it doesn’t seem to make women happy so much as unhappy, stressed, and often kind of traumatized… I realize this is a gauche thing to say, considering the heterodox pro-marriage wave, but I think it’s generally true… Marriage just isn’t often an enjoyable or beneficial arrangement for many women…
