@DCinvestor main problem is that this slop filter literally changes characters facial structure + the lighting is artificially enhanced to create a "fake realism" look which totally undermines the inteded feel and vibe that the artists/devs were going for its very inconsistent too.

@HeyMalav it does exist, because if you want a certain level of fidelity or detail in some games, it is not achievable with rendered graphics at this time whereas it could be with generated graphics

the anti-AI concerns about DLSS 5 will evaporate once games are designed with it in mind right now, we’re only seeing it as a filter on legacy games which didn’t consider it in the design and dev process then you won’t be able to say what you see wasn’t the “artist’s intent” they will know exactly what effect it will have on their games, and talented artists & devs will be able to make beautiful experiences with it which are simply not possible with rendered graphics alone i don’t think the lighting and resolution upscale will be appropriate for everything, but that’s OK too
