I just loved the way Mitch Marsh absolutely scammed LSG & goenka 😂😂 Till LSG were in contention, he scored 212 runs in 8 games at SR of 134. @Vipintiwari952 the only issue I see with @RishabhPant17 in IPL is he does not trust all the shots in front of the wicket he has and quick to resort to those reverse shots etc. Best thing for him might be to let Makaram be the captain & he focus on his batting. He has chance to come back to T20I

Rishabh Pant’s low batting strike rate has been his biggest problem in the IPL. - Ironically, he plays with a much better strike rate in Test cricket. - In Tests, we pray for him to stay at the crease, but he plays some free shots to hit boundaries. - In IPL, where we want him to play those free, aggressive shots, he instead bats cautiously, just standing there. The role reversal is painful to watch.

I wasn’t privileged enough to watch Erapalli Prasanna in his prime. But I did see him bowl once. Early @IPL years -- @DelhiCapitals (then #DelhiDaredevils) two-day off-spin camp. He must have been nearly 70 then, or more. And yet, the whizzzzz of the ball ripping out of his fingers was unreal. For a moment, you could almost imagine what he must have been at his peak. Some facts on One of the West Indies Great ! He played 108 Tests (7,558 runs, 19 centuries) and 128 ODIs for the West Indies, formed a record-breaking partnership with Desmond Haynes, and contributed to two World Cup wins (1975 and 1979). He faced significant racism and cultural adjustment issues in school in Reading which he described as setting feet in hell ,left without qualifications, and initially showed no standout cricket talent or ambition there ,he was just an ordinary school player. In 1974 first-class match, he scored 273 not out with a severe hangover, hitting 13 sixes and 31 fours. He later said he barely remembered the innings because he middled every ball but hardly saw one delivery clearly. He is the only player in Test history to be recorded as retired not out (not due to injury). In the 1983 Test vs India in Antigua, he left the crease on 154* to fly home to his gravely ill young daughter Ria in Barbados.

You missed one more point dear Jawhar Sircar. The "Authorized Signatory" should have been some University official, usually the VC or the Registrar issuing the degree. Here too, Modiji snatched this lawful right from them and signed himself as the one issuing the degree to himself. This happens only in India.

Why was Syed Kirmani dropped in that England tour? To me this is the worst selection/rejection in the history of Indian cricket. Captain of the squad was Srinivas Venkataraghavan and the man who replaced him was Bharat Reddy. I am being told Venkat who was a very short tempered person never liked Kirmani after Kirmani had a bad tour of West Indies in 1975/76 when he dropped quite a few chances of Venkat's bowling.

I’d watched ‘Face to Face’ of Syed Kirmani with Karan Thapar, during the lockdown. And, one of the anecdotes narrated by Kirmani about the great GR Viswanath, made me adore GRV even more, and will remain with me forever. When Kirmani was abruptly dropped from the Indian team in 1979, GRV, apparently, called Kirmani who was passing by to have his lunch; then, held his hand, hugged him and started weeping inconsolably, which then actually made Kirmani think something tragic had happened or someone in the family had passed away. But little did Kirmani know then that it was, ostensibly, his precipitous ouster from the Indian team that’s supposedly made GRV sulk. Later, when a teary eyed Viswanath broke the news to Kirmani about his axing, Kirmani was shell-shocked, and could hardly react for some time. Well, the above overwhelming anecdote speaks volumes about the legendary batter’s character. I guess, only a man with a golden heart can be so viscerally and visibly upset about a colleague’s misfortune. And, unequivocally, the great GR Viswanath had one #Legend
