Forced to sell Anderson and Minteh for PSR. Was left last summer without a sporting director and a CEO. lost isak on deadline day - the team’s top goalscorer and most important player - and missed out on Trafford, Ekitike, Pedro and Sesko as they went elsewhere for money and to club’s with more aura in London and Manchester. Yeah he’s made mistakes, but if you look at everything he has achieved I’d back him over anyone else to lead the rebuild as a manager with a proper recruitment structure in place #nufc

Swiss design is strict and rigid to grid systems. Precise alignment, consistent spacing & clear structural hierarchy. On NUFC’s elements are randomly placed rather than aligned to a consistent grid. Blocks and photos don’t share consistent margins. Text baselines and image edges don’t consistently line up. So in the squares of the next match & score graphics are more decorative rather than structural. In swiss design the grid would organise the information. Swiss has minimal decoration. Clear communication and simple compositions. The NUFC matchday graphics are a mess. Multiple overlapping of elements, text broken across composition, large background textures and grain, several competing focal points. These are not consistent with Swiss design. If they were aiming for Swiss they ignored clarity for clutter which is the exact opposite. For type, Swiss use consistent weights and sizes, often few fonts, string hierarchy. The typography on the matchday graphics seem more placed to fill space rather than to structure information. Cut outs and montages are rare in Swiss design. They use clear imagery, flat colour and clean backgrounds. NUFC use textured grain, player cut outs as well as boxed photos, layered. Total opposite. On the score graphics the score competes with the player image, logos sponsors and textures fight for attention. When Swiss is big on clarity. Basically they have mixed it with modern football social-media aesthetics (collage, textures, dramatic photography). That hybrid approach weakens the clarity and discipline that Swiss design depends on. So they have aimed and missed horribly. With Swiss, you have to go all in or it can become messy.

@RichySouthern Just to chip in: This season's art direction is based on classic Swiss design – heavily reliant on grid systems and widely regarded as the backbone of "modern" design systems (Apple etc). They haven't applied it well in most cases, but I would take it over this AI shite any day.
