The United Kingdom will refuse to allow the United States to use its airbases, particularly RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia which long-range strategic bombers with the U.S. Air Force have previously utilized on a case-by-case basis to carry out strikes on Iran, for missions that target Iranian bridges, power plants, or other civilian infrastructure, citing concerns that such strikes could harm civilians and constitute war crimes, senior officials tell The i Paper.
U.S. intelligence assesses that Iran still maintains a significant missile launching capability, including roughly half of its cruise and ballistic launchers, as well as thousands of one-way attack drones, despite daily strikes against military targets across Iran for the last five weeks by Israel and the United States, three sources familiar with the assessment told CNN.
@sentdefender It’s time to leave NATO. Refusing to help was bad, but forgivable. Actively aiding our enemies by increasing flight times and costs.. is not. Fuck NATO. They’re on their own.
Austria has rejected U.S. requests for use of its airspace since the start of the ongoing Iran War, due to the country’s neutrality law, Col. Michael Bauer, a Spokesman for the Austrian Defense Ministry told the AFP.
This by-election could decide whether or not Mark Carney will have a majority, and the Longest Ballot Committee is disrupting it.
In case you don't remember, the goal of the Longest Ballot Committee is to get as many people as possible to sign up as candidates in a single riding to make the ballot impossibly long.
The point of this is apparently to oppose the first-past-the-post electoral system, even though putting as many names on the ballot as possible can be done in many systems and has nothing to do with first-past-the-post.
Do you think this is an attack on our democracy?
@Hieradin@CodeSurvivor22y@WeAreCanProud Ooooh, poor Mark Carney. A little old lady said some bad words bout him. 😣 Over half this country says the same thing on an hourly basis. many even do it on YouTube! You must be real fragile mate. Be sure to quote me properly when you’re calling 911 about this reply.
@bearsarestupid@NickRicci5@sentdefender NATO is a defence alliance, not an alliance of "We attacked Iran and don't have an exit plan, send help alliance." perhaps if you need allied help, stop trashing them. This is Trumps war.
U.S. President Donald J. Trump plans to take control of the Strait of Hormuz by force, despite having so far failed to establish an international coalition of countries, a move that could take upwards of two months and that would likely require significant assistance from Israel, according to the Israeli Public Broadcasting Corporation.
@Tablesalt13 Funny, why lie about hospitals? I live in Montreal, if you have a serious issue, you're seen right away, my partner had surgery in under an hour after being taken to a Montreal hospital. We have a thing called triage, if your case isn't serious, you wait.
🚨To own Trump -- This American Democrat just moved to a province
where his KIDS will be FORCED to attend French school
and hospital wait times are mostly in excess of 24 hours
and they've overridden the Charter of Rights 25 times to pass laws
and he has NO CLUE 😂😂
@2ndnationrise@NorthrnPrspectv It's called the great recession caused by subprime lending in the US that brought the whole world economy down. It started in 2008 I'm guessing your too young to remember.
📊 January 2025 under Trudeau: 6.7% unemployment
📊 March 2026 under Carney: 6.7% unemployment
New Prime Minister.
Same number.
So after a year of promises, speeches, and “new leadership"...
@Bete_4@sentdefender Perhaps Trump shouldn't have shit all over tge allies? The UK offered an aircraft carrier 2 weeks ago, Trump said they didn't want or need it because they'd won the war.
@sentdefender ⚠️ Coalition Faces Early Resistance
Despite heavy reliance on Gulf oil, Japan will not deploy naval escorts to the Strait of Hormuz.
This raises questions about how many nations will actually join a Hormuz security coalition.
According to Japanese Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi, Japan is not considering sending naval vessels to the Middle East to aid I efforts surrounding the security of the Strait of Hormuz and the wider region. Japan has, however, agreed to participate in drawdowns of its strategic oil reserves, as a part of a multinational effort of the International Energy Agency to stabilize the market.
@mctrees02@Zorpheous@sentdefender Fine. But heaven forfend the front in Ukraine collapses and begins to border NATO nations... Don't ask us for help.
What's crazy is that we're not even asking you to launch an offensive. Just patrol maritime trade.
@mur13582263@Concern70732755 Feel free to renounce your citizenship and leave, nothing stopping you. Of course you won't, more drama without substance.
@CaseySt40782387@THEsodakRANCHER@sentdefender I absolutely support human rights, there's no TDS here, the Shia won't stop, especially since the death of the supreme leader. There's no path to exit at this point that doesn't lead to years of hardship.
@Hieradin@THEsodakRANCHER@sentdefender You don’t understand they don’t have to bend the knee. We’re going to walk away and let the Iranians handle the rest. I remember when the left supported human rights but then TDS happened.
After a video call with Heads of State for all members of the G7 on Wednesday, French President Emmanuel Macron declared publicly what others had said privately: “No one can tell what U.S. President Donald J. Trump wants from this ongoing war with Iran.”
Israeli officials tell Axios their impression is that Trump is not planning to end the war in the next two to three weeks - but are accounting for the possibility he makes an abrupt decision if he concludes his objectives have been met against Iran.
Both Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had hoped the opening strike last Saturday - which killed Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and 40 top government, military, and security officials - would rapidly destabilize the regime in Tehran. However, thirteen days later, both understand that has not happened. Both still hope the cracks will soon begin to widen within the Iranian Government.
@THEsodakRANCHER@sentdefender And that won't happen, the Iranians won't bend the knee for Trump, and the entire world will pay the price for Trumps miscalculation on Iran's response.
@sentdefender "No one can tell what DJT wants from this ongoing (2 week) war" 🙄
Unconditional surrender. Its pretty clear and obvious. He has stated this multiple times. 😂
