Yesterday a bitcoin investor (@cprkrn) used Claude to recover his previously lost bitcoin. The AI model was able to locate a local file with the private keys & recover the keys. Amazing use case for one investor, but scary ramifications if a nefarious actor had done the same.

When investors get squeezed in other areas of their portfolio, they sell their Bitcoin to cover it. Third, it’s a relatively small and controllable market, whereas gold stands alone. There is only one gold. Ultimately, gold is more widely held, deeply established, and still plays a central role in the global system.

I don't think it's fully appreciated how big of a deal this is. Schwab has almost 40 million (!!) active brokerage accounts and the head of this new platform is a true believer in Bitcoin. We're still in the early days of adoption.

@danheld the SBR changes the denominator. when a sovereign government treats bitcoin as a reserve asset, every other government has an incentive to accumulate before the next one does. that game theory hasn't made it into price models yet.

More folks are becoming disillusioned about Bitcoin's future. Not because of the price, but because of the narratives / infighting / stagnation. This is quite normal. Each new cohort of adopters is always less sophisticated than the last. "Bitcoiners" are doomed to get dumber.
